They will give his shots depending on his age. Most likely MMR and DPT.

The titre antibody test to prove immunity is more expensive than all the vaccinations put together and besides, they don't have the capability for testing immunity for certain things like Rubella in India.

At least, that's what the doctor who did my medical/physical told me when I asked him about it.

Do embassies just assign random times, or do we really get our interview at the stated time?

Meh, I assume there's a bit of waiting around (1-2 hours) before you get called to the window. All Bombay visa applicants have an interview time of 730AM.

There might be a small interview with the documents pre-screener as well.

I am assuming my hubby has no choice but to get that antibody test, right?

No need at all. The doctor will recommend vaccinations depending on his age. Everything else will be marked as "NOT AGE APPROPRIATE."

He'll be fine. He'll have 2 shots at the most--MMR and the DPT.

Been away from VJ for a few days now. I was really swamped at work. Trying to wrap up my some projects at work so I can sit back a few days upon wify's arrival. Interview in exactly a weeks time.......woooooow. Wife is reviewing and arranging all the evidance documents I sent her. She is off to Chennai for her Medical and Interview on Friday.

We booked her ticket on Emirates for the 21st May. I can see the finish line.

Hey My heart is jumping out everytime I think about how close it is... Actually it's in 8 days because he is 12 hours ahead....

Everything is ready, but I keep reminding him about taking passport pictures and wishing I could attend the interview instead of him.....

It's next week, but for some reason I feel like it's going to be in the next century.... I am sooo fed up with waiting....

Yep he did & thats how he figured he will have to pay a lot since he does not have his childhood vaccination card. But I talked to the Dr I work for & he stated that after they do a blood test to see what hubby is immune to, they will do a shot for Hep B & maybe MMR shot & possibly one more.

Before I read this post, I was going to suggest you have him go get his blood drawn at his local clinic and have them run titers to use instead of the immunization record. You beat me to it.

Wooow, 8 days! Amazing!! Remember how crazy we were last month about the interview date? Can you believe we are sooo close now?

About me.... well, I try not to think about the interview too much, but sometimes I can't help. Every time I think about it my heart pops out and I can barely fell my legs. Don't wanna know how it would be at the interview. I hope I can at least pretend I'm fine.

I'm planning on having a lot of passion fruit juice for breakfast before the interview to calm down, hubby laughs at me. He says the worst thing it can happen is that they delay us for some reason, but it wouldn't kill us. But still! Visa's interview is always a visa interview. I remember how nervous I was for my J1.

Hubby is a very nice and relaxed person, I joke with him sometimes saying the world isn't purple as he thinks, but at the end I think he is right, I'm sure when all this is over I'll feel stupid for being so nervous! lol

Anyway, one week and a half to go! I'll be leaving to Rio on Monday the 10th. Gotta do my medical on Tuesday and be ready for the interview on Thursday!

God help us all!!!!

You have no idea how well I understand.... My Hubby is the same way - he is completely calm and asks me why I'm worried and nervous, he keeps telling me it's going to be ok... I hate being the one with fears, but I can't help it.... The only thing that's good is that it will all be over soon, I can't imagine or remember how it feels not to worry about any of this things...

P.S. - I didn't know passion fruit juice makes you relaxed. May is going to be one crazy month.... Can't wait for people to start bringing good news - first interview is May 3rd... 6 days until the official start of the May thread
