I write this with a heavy heart.

With an interview just a few weeks away. First- I am very happy I have met all of you. Its been a hard road and a long one and yet we all made it. Our motives are many! but the biggest one is love.

This journey has taught me love.

My husband has decided that he cant leave his kids. He doesnt feel we will be able to make it financially and is having some regrets now. Call it cold feet? I do not know. All I do know is that I dont think we will remain married because how can we living so very far apart? I wont make him choose between me and his kids. I cant convince him otherwise.

I love all of you! And wish you all the best. I dont honestly know what I am going to do now. I guess find a way to pick myself up. I can consider this an accomplishment. A sad one.

God bless you all.

Alicia, I am so sorry... I wish I could say something to make you feel better, but nothing will. This process is devastating on people, long distant relationships are hard even without the added stress of filing paperwork and wondering about everything that can go wrong. As in regards of choosing between kids and you, I'm sorry to say it but I think he should have thought of it before he put you through the hell of filing paperwork. Have you considered moving there to be with him? I can't imagine how frustrating it must be, hang in there, we are here for you....

Alicia, I'm sooo sorry!!! I don't even know what to tell you.

I hope he think things trough and figure out what he wants to do. Maybe bring the kids along to the US?

Me as the foreign understand how he feels (at least a bit). I lived in America for 1 1/2 years and I have an idea how life is over there. I can't imagine moving to another country without knowing how it would be.

Now that I have the interview date set up, I'm also sorry for leaving my family behind. It is not easy. But we have to make choices.

Having children must be even harder. There is no way the kids could come along?

Don't lose hope dear. Hopefully you'll find a solution that will be good for both of you. Cold feet is normal... maybe he just need some more time to get used with the idea of moving to the US.

I'm here for you. Hang in there amiga (F)

Alicia,

I know nothing we all went through when in NVC can even come close to the pain you are feeling, but maybe you could give him some time and then talk about your options after a few days. Give time to both to think it through and decide what's best. I think Mrs wife is right, he should have thought about it before taking the plunge, but what's done is done. Maybe you could talk to him about bringing the kids over. I know it will be difficult for you to move there, but you know best. Take you time and ask him to do the same. Regardless of the outcome, you can sure count on all of us to be by your side at all times.

Wish you the very best of everything throughout your life...

Oh, Alicia -- I'm so so sorry about your situation. This process is a soul-sucking, heavy bleeding b*tch. I can't even begin to imagine how folks with kids manage to navigate through this. I do hope that you will have faith that in the end it will all work out, somehow or the other. 'Cause as they say in our Bollywood movies--if it's not a happy ending, then it's not an ending at all. I wish you love, luck and peace. Stay strong, dear and if you ever need to talk, we're right here. :goofy: And that's just to cheer you up.

Thank you guys. You all mean the world to me- I really mean that. Its more than just papers and visas and plans and such. Its sucks and honestly, I dont think I have ever felt this low in my life. Tears are falling as I type and I feel like I could crawl into myself and die.

BUT! I wont. For in all things lessons reveal themselves..

Im gonna give VJ a break for a while. You all are in my thoughts - believe that! I remember all of your interview dates and the progress of all of you and will remember it. When you reunite with your loved ones- hold them tight and never let them go. Think of me and know that I still believe LOVE is worth it cuz it is - even if it didnt work out for me.

I am so sorry to hear all of that!!! I hope he is just having cold feet!!!! Like Yuliya says, how about moving there to be with him? Is that possible or? Have him go to the interview, get his visa, come to US, get his SSN (and whatever else) and you go back with him & stay there till his kids paperwork process & they get a visa that way kids can join him in US. Is that possible or?

Alicia,

I'm really sorry to hear this. I can't imagine myself put into this situation, especially after going through all this long stressful journey!

And what made it even more sad is this decision really came at this point, just few weeks before the end of this dramatic journey.

I wish you the best of luck in your life, full of joy and success.

Regards,

Mo
