Hey Sachi........ Where did you find this information that all VFS locations request a new DS-230. If you find any link please pass it along.I checked with Lji who had his interview last month in Chennai. All he did with VFS was submit the courier fees and nothing else. I have been reserching the Chennai consulate website and Chennai VFS website and there is no mention of submitting anything to VFS. I understand if you need to change anything then it makes sense to submit them to VFS. If nothings changed from what was submitted to NVC I really don't understand what business VFS has other than send your passport.............Agrrrrrrr this VFS thing is so confusing blink.gif . I tried calling them but its a holiday in Chennai.

Between wifes Medical has been scheduled for April 30th

We submitted only courier fees and nothing else to the VFS. When we called the embassy they said we need to atleast pay the courier fees for sure. We directly submitted all the doucments to Chennai embassy on the interview date and had no problems.

9/1/2009: Applied for I-130

9/14/2009: NOA1 for I-130

9/21/2009: NOA1 for I-129F (CSC)

9/25/2009: NOA1 received for I-129F (receipt of mail)

01/08/2010 : Thank you very much Jesus..... NOA 2 129F

01/08/2010 : NOA 2 I-130

01/15/2010 : Embassy gets the approval notice (Awesome..Love K3...so glad we have done K3)

01/20/2010: Embassy schedules interview for K3

02/19/2010: K3 interview over and approved.

Thanks Sachi. I will wait till tomorrow to call VFS once they are back from vacation. My only concern about submitting additional documents to VFS was I will be submitting the exact same documents and the consular officer will be reviewing the same thing twice. One from NVC and one from VFS. Anyway if needed I have everything ready. Will keep you guys updated on what Chennai VFS has to say.

Sachi could you PM me the VFS receipts you talked about? Especailly if you have one for Chennai. Not exactly sure what these receipts are.

In my case I was a bit worried about not submitting documents to VFS(since they were not ready) so I actually called consulate three times to make sure they always tell that same thing...That it is OK not to submit the documents to VFS and ok to bring it directly to embassy. They did tell me to make sure I submitted the courier fees though.

Contact the embassy since you will feel better when you hear it from them instead of VFS.

that's exactly what i meant. and the consulate is the best place to seek clarifications regarding vfs. the vfs cannot demand any documents but have to accept whatever is submitted by the applicants and forward the same to the consulate and of course, the courier fees have to be paid. they have no discretion whatsoever. i have even heard that some of the enterprising vfs staff sometimes even rejects the photocopies and the photographs (without any reason) and have the applicants photocopy everything at the vfs xerox machines and they even have a photographer who will hand you a fancy bill. i think dumping a lot of duplicate and unnecessary papers on the consulate officers would only make them irritable. and anyway there will be enough time at the consulate, before the interview to hand over any papers they ask. and anyway at this stage we have to submit only documents that were asked for by the nvc and not submitted to them. this is pretty clear in the checklist accompanying the nvc interview cover letter.

i am sure all of us are going to have a very smooth and easy interview and all will be approved for the visa. but right now - our nerves are so frayed that we are getting paranoid and most are going in for an overkill.

I've had a bunch of extremely nice VJ people email me their VFS receipts when I was in the NVC stage so I could prepare for what was coming up next. All of them had the DS230 marked on it, some had the AOS.

Could you please PM me the receipt too if you don't mind?
