So I packed my suitcase and when I tried to pick it up, the entire handle came off because it was too heavy. :(

Now, not only do I have to buy another new suitcase, I gotta re-pack and leave behind most of the 'heavy stuff.'

I guess my mom will bringing that stuff over when she comes to visit us at the end of the summer!

Sorry about that! But nice your mom is coming to visit soon. Has she been to the states before?

Anyway, hope everyone is doing well and looking forward for more approvals to come!

Has your visa been delivered to you already?

Tat!!!! HOw are you holding up? Getting excited/stressed yet? How is the new place coming along?

Hey there. Missed you around here but I bet you been way too busy with moving.

I am actually okay. Seeing everyone approved makes me more excited then stressed but once in a while I have my moments & hubby says I am being negative. But I am not just nervous & he is so calm. Calm like a cucumber (like Gina says):rofl:

I am keeping myself busy with shopping for the new place. Ordered the furniture thats due to be shipped around June 9th (apartment won't be available till about the 10th)

Bought beatiful dinnerware at Pier One. Shopped Bed, Bath & Beyond, Ikea, Ross, Marshalls & still got quite a few other places to hit.

You all moved in? How's everything going for you?

I see you still having nighmares about the process. Signed up for therapy yet? I think we all might need it at one point or another.

I have not seen Mr. Sachinky since August 20th when he left right after our wedding. I will be seeing him on May 20--nine months to the day. I'm so excited I can barely contain myself. It's gonna be effin' EPIC!

Happy 9mo Anniversary. You are around the counter to celebrate!!! (F)

Hey Gina :) I used Expedia to find the flight then I called Delta directly. Cheapoair was the same price as Expedia. They let me reserve her international flight. Delta doesn't do reservations for domestic anymore. Kayak was about 50 bucks higher for the exact same flight. I usually use Priceline for my flights but you can't book a flight that originates outside the US with them or Travelocity.

Detroit on June 11th Yule!! yayyy!! I'm going to fly there to meet her then we'll come back home together :D

Very good info, thanks Kevin!

It's very good. Tickets to/from Brazil are not usually so expensive. I have non-stop option which would take us straight to JFK or one stop in DC that would take us to Newark (which is closer to his parents).

So we'll talk to them this week and see which one is better. Sucks we might have to go trough DC, but at least when we get to the final destination will be closer and easier to get home (they live in Princeton NJ).

I'm very excited to finally go back to the US and get our lives started again. At the same time, so sad to leave everyone behind. My birthday is next Saturday, so I'm planning a party to see friends and have some fun! Who knows when I'll be able to celebrate my b-day again with everybody!

My passport should arrive by the end of the week. I also dreamed about it last night... I dreamed the brown envelope was open and I had to go back to Rio for another interview... so silly!

When are you moving to your new place? So exciting!!!!!!!!!!!

Imagine having to go for second interview... I would definitely end up in a nut house. Even if you end up going through DC, you'll be with your hubby and it will be fun!

I promised my hubby I wouldn't move without him, so I am moving once I pick him up from the airport.

So much nicer when there is a fixed date....Can't believe we got through to this point in oe piece but I'm definitely grateful for it :D

You win.....9 months is a long time...looking back now, I'm wondering how I managed not to jump on the airplane and go visit him.....

It might be a while before the nightmares cease...we'll all be diagnosed a few years donw the line with post immigration stress disorder!laughing.gif

I need to enter an immigration rehab....

I missed you guys too!!! Shopping for the new place must be fun - it's a blessing in disguise to be doing it alone - on one hand it's more fun together, on the other hand you get to decorate to your taste :)

I spend the most time at Bath & Beyond, also target for some kitchen appliances.

Finding furniture and the apartment was the hardest part of it all...
