I seriously never thought we'd get here way back when in September. Irritates me no end that people who filed 3 months after us are at the same stage purely because of how long USCIS took with our petitions.

No offense to those filers - just saying. I love youse all ...

I know that sounds crazyyy, but chennai seems like working with diff kinda set of rules than mumbai.... it doesnt even make sense when they told me eventhough its valid for 12 months, they want it to be in less than 6months. called twice and e-mailed once, same answer

now i am kinda worried about my wife's passport/pcc.. its been already 16days and no news from the passport office.

actually gonna meet my wife directly on june 9th in chennai and then interview on the 10th. chintu, most passport offices have tracking features online. check the hyderabad passport website to track your passport. if there are any issues, it should say online. that's what they did with my wife's passport at the bangalore passport office. the stupidest f******n thing - they held her passport b/c she didnt put a "PCC needed for US visa" on top of her application (not that anyone told her, or if there's any place to put that or that the application even asks for that). when she went to the office, they told her she needs to write that on top and then they actually scolded her for not filling out the application properly!!! anyway, she wrote it on top and then they gave her the PCC and her passport. so there may be some kind of ridiculousness like that - do check it online.

as for the PCC, the lady told me the same thing - should be within 6 months. i told her that her pasport pCC was obtained feb 18th and so well within 6 months of the interview date...those guys are clueless...

I checked with the Consulate thrice before the interview since mine was crossing 6 months.

Also, I think the Delhi website states it's valid for 1 year. Or could be Chennai. Or Mumbai. It's there. Somewhere.

yea all the websites say the PCCs are valid for a year. but to be on the safe side, perhaps make sure they're within 6 months of your interview date...

Chintu (or was it someone else?) actually called all three Consulates and while Delhi and Chennai said 6 months, Mumbai said a year.

Calcutta VFS also said 1 year.

I agree, best be on the safe side. If you can get fresh ones, get them.

Yes I was the one called all the consulates and never gave them my casenumber... Chennai leady even told me to not worry about the local police pcc( they dont need it ) cuz of local pcc i had send my DS230 20days late! otherwise I would've been ontime for May interviews.

Thats what I should do, but HYD passport office is so messed up. I read online that the passport office wont need the verification if your passport has been issued in less than 12months..and my wifes passport was issued in Sept/09, still these morons don't know what they doing..

I left the Consulate about one hour ago. Had to check out the hotel and check in Ipanema beach. Then internet not working and bla bla bla!!!

Gotta call my mom now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG.... I am soooooooooooo happy for you!!!! YEAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! Came back to check how your interview went, seems like for everyone in our group the interviews are an easy breeze!!!! WOOT WOOT!!!
