I'm a little nervous because I was laid off for the first 6 month of 2009 so my 2009 w-2 show low income but I sent the other years that show what I was making plus my current 2 job letters, paystubs, child support order. Do you think that would be enough? Thanks

Are you able to show that you meet the poverty guidelines with assets? You might want to talk to someone about co-sponsoring just in case.

my 2008 income was also very low ( i filed last year) and did not meet guidelines, but my 2007 and 2006 irs transcripts with income well over the limit PLUS check stubs from the last 6 mnths of 2009 was sufficient enough to them. i think i read somewhere as long as u are able to prove u CURRENTLY can meet the guidelines.. i read bout 100 posts on the issue worried about the SAME exact thing, so i understand ur worry..

I have been working for almost a year and i have 2 jobs plus child support and it takes me way over the income level by abot 10k. so do you think I will still need a co sponsor?

Ok so I was worried for nothing because I called the NVC and it was accepted.

Just keep in mind that even if it is accepted at NVC, the Consulate has the final say as to if it is acceptable... However, if you meet the guidelines and currently earn enough to support the immigrant you should be fine... But the consulate has the final approval NOT NVC

If you're currently employed, use a couple current pay stubs to show your year to date income. They can do the math. You could also get an employer letter. Your current income is the key, not your 2009 income.

I would also definitely bring a current employment letter stating your current income in addition to the check stubs. The more the better at the interview in case there is any question. I heard a lot of blue-slips being passed out for that stuff. Bring extra pay stubs if you have to and copies of current bank statements too.
