Hopefully your AP is short since they kept your passport.

If you could find out if your Administrative processing is in DC or internal, it would really help you a lot.

If it is in DC, that means that the embassy was satisfied and it is only a matter of time.

Hopefuily it won't take the embassy too much longer to complete whatever they are doing. Some embassies are more backed up then others.

I hope you hear good news soon.

I know how depressing this process is. Try to keep yourself busy...that is what I do...

I know sometimes this feels unbearable, but we will all make it through. Just try to be strong.

I always remind myself that my husband is worth all of this.

I will pray for you as I am sure that others are and will too!

HI

Today i called embassy they told me that i am under AP (internal embassy). My question is what is the different between internal embassy & mandatory AP and what they are doing in internal embassy AP.

Anyone can explain plz? :crying:

the one in W.DC dose name checks. The Internal Embassy i done at the embassy. Maybe they need to re-look and some of the info and stuff.

My hubby had his interview march 17th and they wanted us to send them a signed letter from me and now under Internal AP. i think is so they can have time to look at my case again and look and the letter i sent.

It dose not always take long my husbands friend was under AP for 15 days then they told him to send his passport and my sister in law same thing they needed extra documents and they sent them they were under AP for 15 days aswell and then they were told to send the visa so just pray that this is quick

02-14-10: Medical exam (Passed)

03-17-10: Interview (Approved But Pending AP.)

12-01-10: Embassy Calls Husband To Send In Passport Finally After Almost 9 months Of AP!!

I hate the internal AP. It could be a number of things. The embassy may want to verify your documents or your relationship. They aren't going to tell you the reason or what they are looking at. The worst part is that there is no deadline to how long this can take.

The internal AP is very stressful because you are not approved until they have finished whatever it is that they are doing.

If you were in mandatory adminstrative processing (Washington DC name checks), then you know that you are approved pending name clearance. When this is the case, the visa is issued after Washington has finished the name checks.

Internal AP is a whole different beast. I would ask you if you had a good interview, but that doesn't mean anything. My husband had a good interview. They told him that he was approved, but they had to verify a few things. So, now we are working on the 8th months of internal AP.

I hope yours doesn't last that long, but really there is no way to know. Just keep calling and emailing the embassy and checking on your case. I used to call the DOS a couple of times a week and email the embassy every three weeks. Now that we have passed the 6 month mark of AP, I email them every week. The 221g that they sent us 10 days after the interview said that the AP would last 4 to 6 months.

I am sorry that you are having to endure the unknown of AP because it is torture. I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Good Luck

Hi guys,

My fiance had AP after we submitted the documents and once they verified the documents were genuine they called him for a 2nd interview. Then they told him to submit passport with confirmation of our wedding plans. Once he submitted that he got his passport back two weeks with a letter stating that under section 221g our file is incomplete and is ungergoing administrative processing. I know for sure our AP was completed prior to this 2nd interview. But, just a few weeks back I got an email back from the consulate stating that we are undergoing administrative review, and the internal processing has not cleared yet. So, our case is still at the consulate. I just wonder what this internal procesing is now. I mean name checks are done in Washington. It makes me think if our case is just sitting on someones desk and being approved does not mean much.

Starlight, I am so sorry that happened to you. It is rare, but we experiences this back in 2007. I didn't know what was going on at the time.

Some how, some way new information was probably given to the embassy.

I hope that whatever it is wll be cleared up soon.

We are in the same situation.Ap at the embassey. They told us we were approved but we had mandatory ap.This coming from the same people whom called my fiancee in for a second interview a week later, then had him picked up when he arrived at the embassey.I dont know how they got the sweden government to revolk his id card. But they did.So he returned to Iraq. Now it has been 4 months since that day and still no word. They want even transfer his case to Iraq til we are out of ap in sweden.I think they just want to give us hell because Alen is Iraqi.I can understand these people are allow to screw with your life like this.It makes me sad and feel ashamed that this place that is suppose to be a free country can treat its own citizens this way.I dont know what the answer is to fix this problem but it does need to be fixed.I hope you hear something soon about your ap.Good luck and i will continue to keep you all in my prayers.

Dont worry Bhai. I know how you feel. They seriously can be very rude at embassy sometimes. My husband told them he was told that his case was finished and they told him so and that someone told him he will hear results in 8-10 days. that was a month a go. When he called about 10 days later, a guy said "You are lying, no one from our staff would have ever told you 8-10 days. Its true that your case was finished. But it is back in AP." So, they really dont care because I had to go thru surgery and give birth to our child without my husband being here. Now she is 1 month old, and still he isnt here. I dont know when it will finish. Just wish us luck. By the way.. when AP is involved.. the senator or congressman wont be able to get any different response than what they tell you. Just "Pending AP and nothing can be done to speed it up." So.. just be patient and pray to Allah, it is in His hands.
