Translations for interview?

For the K1 interview in Casablanca Morocco, do you need to have your birth certificate, police forms, etc translated, or only evidence such as conversations??

Everything needs to be translated into English by someone with the appropriate certification (with proof).

That's not the correct answer. The information needs to be either in english or the native language of the country. So if it's in arabic it's ok.

Where did you read that? I've read that everything has to be translated. But I'd be interested in seeing that it doesn't because that would save a few steps and some money!

I emailed the consulate in Casablanca and this is what they replied:

Dear Madam,

All official Moroccan documents need to be translated by a sworn translator.

On our paperwork from the NVC about what to bring to the interview it stated that all documents need to either be in english or the native language of the country.

Thats what I thought, thats why I told my fiancee not to worry about it, but other people are saying that we have to have it done now. So now i'm confused. I guess better safe than sorry, but who wants to put time and money into that if its not necessary. I will double check my fiancee's paperwork later when he gets home. Thanks for your thoughts.

Well if it were me, based on this response, I would have everything translated, just in case. That's what my husband and I will be doing. No sense in giving them a reason to give you AP. It may or may not be necessary but if it were me who got that response, I would follow it.

This is correct, any document that is not in English must be accompanied by an English translation that has been certified by a sworn translator. There are many translators in Casa, and Rabat who are very familiar with the requirements. We used a translator, I believe his name was Khalid Elfathi out of Rabat. He was quick, thorough and in-expensive, he also provided several certified copies of the English translations as a back-up in case we needed them.
