Hello everyone,

As I indicated on my previous post, I already received NOA2 on March 11, 2010. I am wondering what information or documents that USCIS will send to me? How long should I wait before calling them and check on the status? Do they send me anything indicating that the file is on its way to HCM consulate?

You will get a hard copy of the NOA2... hang on to it!

You can call NVC to see if they have sent it on to the consulate...

A call to DoS will let you know if the consulate has recieved the case file.

After the consulate gets the case they will send here a letter (pkt 3) letting her know they have the file and asking her if she is ready for an interview.

I called the NVC about a few days after I received the NOA2. They informed me that is was sent to HCMC the day before.

Received NOA2 in the mail on 9/21/09 (hard copy was dated by USCIS 9/16/09)

Called NVC on 9/23 and was told it was sent to HCMC on 9/22

My fiancee received packet 3 from HCMC Consulate on 10/19

In between I did receive a letter from the NVC with the HCM case number and informing me that the packet had been forwarded to HCMC.

Its away from the USCIS now so you would be contacting the NVC/DoS/Consulate now for information.

As Scott mentioned - take care of the NOA2 - you will need it again later!

Just called NVC and got the latest on my case. NVC received the application on 3/17/10 and sent the package to HCM on 3/19/10. They also gave me the case number from HCM which is different than the first receipt number. The contact number of the HCM consulate is 011-848-8229433. That's the latest. What should I do next? Sit tight and wait? Thanks for the advices.

call DOS next week @ 202 663 1225 ( press 1, 0, 4, 3, 0 ) they will let you know if the consulate has the case yet.. then you can call back after you have sent the pkt 3 in and they will tell you if the interview has been scheduled...

HCMC stopped answering the phones early last year
