Yes, but the crowds that have been stirred up contain enough elements that don't meet these criteria. It's going to take some effort to put that genie back into the bottle. And I think it's time that such effort is made.

Obama himself could have focused on the economy instead using the recession to further his agenda on healthcare. He wasted most on his time in office on an issue that no one believes was one of root causes of the recession.

A strong, stable economy goes a long way to curb the radicals and using some vague threats as some kind of "effort" isn't going to cut it. It's not like we have a serious case of domestic terrorism movement to worry about beyond the ghost of McVeigh and the phony miltia scares of the 1990s.
