I am so sorry Debby. I will agree the Lagos Embassy is quite intimatdatig and well to me unprofessional how they keep the mike open and blast all your business so the room can be entertained as they try their best to humiliate our Nigerian families.

I was at the embassy September 15th getting an emergency passport. for aboout 2 hours I had the place all to myself with 4 interviewers at hand. So I had a Q & A and asked some of the things we talk about on here. Here's some tips for us all.

1. Only provide proof that can be backed up.

2. It's strongly suggested to not accompany your fiance/husband to interview. It is viewed to them like he can not stand on his own. They want to really hear just from him.

3. If at all possible spend as much time with spouse as possible. They said its not the amount of trips but the duration of the stay. I just came from a 6 month stay with my husband (wasn;t planned).

4. When asked and requested to bring further evidence to embassy as stated in letters they write to applicants, please do so. There were alot of folk there coming back and still after 2, 3,4 times back still couldn't or wouldn't produce things like letters from spouse, phone call list, etc.

I had stated to them they seem to be dening like crazy and well what was up. And they said they have been really coming down on folk since Nigeria was named the #1 "Visa fraud" embassy. So they are not thrilled.

Anyway hope this helps but do call out the calvary. Ring that bell and alert the dang media. I think all citieds have that one news station that does deep investigative reoporting. I think thus would make a good story. Let them go check it out.

God Bless and keep us posted. Soon soon you will all be a family together under one roof.

  • 4 months later...

you HAVE to move to nigeria even though in their eyes the case is already close BUT don't care of that and MOVE to the embassy in person with the letter explaining everything and your husband has to write one too, then get an appointment to meet with the CO director of the embassy and insist that he read the 2 letters, then wait till they contact you back. that's the best advice you can get... JUST DO WHAT I TOLD YOU !!! you will see how they will change their mind ;) but just explain well your reasons why you see that they are wrong to get your husband a denial. GOOD LUCK

GOD IS WITH YOU
