Alicia, I'm so sorry about your hubby's situation!

If he gets the interview in May, how long do you think it will be until he gets there?

Is the medical place close to the Embassy? I will go to the doctor in Rio, its in the same street as the Consulate. So I'm planning to travel to RJ 2 days before the interview to get my medical done. I've talked to the secretary and she said the results will be ready the same day as the appointment.

So maybe if it's closer he could to the same?

Ok, so I need some advice/suggestions.

The AVR is still telling me that the NVC has reviewed my packet of documents and found missing or incomplete information, and it's said this since 04/01. I've called and spoken to a few different people, and they all pretty much say the same thing "mail was recieved on the 1st of april and is being reviewed"

I recieved a checklist email asking for my DS-230 on 04/04, which had already been sent.

I'm getting extremely frustrated at the operators lack of answers. Should I just keep calling, should I ask to speak to a supervisor, or is it just a matter of waiting?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

This is a classic 'false RFE' scenario.

You've sent stuff in, NVC received it, but it's not been put into the system yet.

Or - it's been put into the system, but still waiting on physical review by a human.

or it's IN REVIEW at the moment.

or the review is finished.

To add to the confusion -

The AVR has a 'timewarp' - it's anywhere from 3 to 5 days behind the actual event.

Hang in there ! an RFE is only 'real' when you receive postal notice (and not email) about it.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Ah. So you can only wait. I'm sorry, hon. What other things do you like to do that will keep your mind off the whole thing?

WHA?! $180 + $109?! I'm gonna tell Husby to quit whining about his $120 total.

I like your attitude:) I guess i'll just file an extension.

It's ok, that's why I called my tax company because I didn't know what to do. They will most likely want to see my '09 taxes at her interview but I don't want to file without her. If I file now, I owe..then file and ammended when she's here, now they owe..just a big mess. I needed to wait till she was here but knew she'd need something for the interview. My tax company said to draft a letter explaining that I was not required to meet the April 15th deadline because I was anticipating a refund (provided I could file married and have her included) and to include copies of my '09 W-2's.
