Medical over. Report collected. Ended up having to take 3 darned vaccinations.

OUCH.

OUCH.

OUCH.

Anyway, the reports were fine (I asked the doctor) -- and it's one less thing to worry about now.

Total cost: $70.

So the operators can be full of #######. We know this already. We've dealt with it sooooo much. No more, though. We're gonna get interviews and it's gonna be good. Then we're free for 2 years minus 90 days. Not too bad.

Just a second ago, Husby told me he wants to have our wedding on our anniversary instead of in September. :bonk:As of this moment, I want to strangle him. I'm willing to forfeit all the work I've put into getting him here. I've already got the dress and am making the favors and told my relatives to plan for a trip in September. What the heck is he thinking?!?!

Kari - i thought you're married. Is this wedding just a formality for the family?

Just went through my 2009 tax and i noticed a big difference when declared head of house hold vs. married filed jointly vs. single. The problem is my wife doesnt have her SSN or ITIN. Should i file an extension and wait till she get here and file? By then she should have her SSN. If i file an extension, what will i use to show the CO during my wife interview this May? W2 and the extension form that i filed?

Julissa, Congratulations!! And you're not alone at all. We're all here with you.

Aww... Poor Sachi. But $70 is a lot better than the $120 Husby will have to dish out soon. AND he'll still get jabbed for bloodwork.

Tharnsur, yes, sir. We registered our marriage at the District Office but have yet to have our big ceremony. We figured out K-1 vs. CR-1 when I was there, so there wasn't much time to pull off the wedding. Before then, it was just enough to decide if we were going to live in Thailand or the US.

Good morning, everyone!

I woke up early to register for classes. Of course, so did everyone else. The system keeps returning a blank page. I keep refreshing. It'll happen soon.

That's all.

Good morning VJ familia! Sach - happy your medical went smooth! Was informed by my husband that he will need to go all the way to Montego Bay for medical for exam and then have to go all the way back in order to pick up results. Thought they sent it to the embassy?? I think they purposely do this as a tactic to down those at a disadvantage. Its hard to get around enough IN town, let alone travel all over the forsaken island for goodness sake!!! He's so despressed about this- wondering how he will get the time off work for this... let alone the extra money for the exam. Those embassy docs charge visa applicant medical exams SO MUCH.. its extorsion. Plain and simple.. so- needless to say, Im a little down. Hubby now thinks maybe he will need to stay an extra couple months in Jamaica after the interview just so he can save up some money since he will be leaving the two kiddos there temporarily...

I wanna :crying:...

I booked four nights at suite at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas for June 23-26 as a surprise to him. Was gonna take him there to watch the World Cup games. Kinda a lil anniversary present. I dont have the heart to tell him now. Heres a man that has spent 10 years working for a 5 star resort- catering to rich foreighner and never ever having the time or resources to afford the very rooms he cleans and manages. I wanted him to feel like a big shot for a couple days and finally reap a reward he has well deserved... oh well.

Anyone wanna go to vegas? :(

If you have children, go ahead and file Head of Household first. If you spouse wasn't living with you for a single day from July 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009 and you provided more than half of the support of your child, then you qualify. Then, when your spouse gets here and has their SSN, you can file 1040X and amend your return to add your spouse. Of course, if it's more beneficial for you to file HOH than MFJ, you don't have to amend at all.

If you don't have children, file MFJ and include the ITIN application. I also remember Kevin saying something about not having to file by April 15 if you're due a refund. I don't think it sounds right, but Kevin will have the details on that.
