Nobody at this point is going to be assigned an April date. I just don't see that happening. Once your May date is assigned, you can try to move it up but that depends on your consulate's availability.

Called back and finally got a straight answer from the operator. AOS was processed, but apparently my DS-230 hasn't been matched to our case yet, and the FRE was for the DS-230 and civil documents.

If you look at my timeline it took about a week for NVC to receive it and assign a case number. You can call to try and get it but mine came pretty quick really.

I'm living with my parents so that's no issue. Basically I moved back home to get married and wait out this visa process.

Which might have been the stupidest decision we ever made because I could've just adjusted my status off my F-1. :bonk:

Sachinky - quick question about the different visa types. So the F1 visa is for student visa to study in the US? I have a college friend that is marrying a japanese girl that is currently holding an HB1 visa. She has been here on an F1 visa and then work here on HB1 visa. She has been here approximately 10 years now. They are marrying here in the us. Does she have to move back to japan once she's applying for her green card?
