Just for fun (killing time) :ot:

What's the first thing you & your SO plan to do when they arrive to US (minus the kinky stuff :o )

For me, hubby misses Thai food so much (his favorite) that I am taking him straigh to a Thai restaurant so he can have his Tum Yum that he has been craving for a year now. After that, we will stop by Jack in the Box so he can have his favorite Milk Shake which he too has been craving for awhile (too bad they don't have the Chipotle sandwich anymore which he too loves).

But before all that happens, we may have trouble getting out the airport since it's the first time he will hold Gisele & see her in real life, there might be tears. Yes my hubby is knows to shed a tear to two at special moments (it's so cute).

Oh my goodness! This is a great question. I'm with you Tat, hubby hasn't seen Bryce so the airport scene will definitely be emotional. He's such a homebody that we'll probably just stare at each other for about 4 or 5 hours! Thats what we did when we met up in the Philippines last year! The Bay Area has so many great spots that we'll probably spend a while going around and seeing the sites here first. I would like to take the train and travel up and down Cali. If I think on it too much, I'll get even more restless!

What city do you live in now?

I love Dallas. Was there not too long ago. So you are going to Thailand for hubbys interview?

Sounds like you are going to show him a couple of fun places already. Will have to think to suggest other places. So hubby has never been to US?

I know I really want to go to Vermont for the Fall Foliage (I love fall) around Sep/Oct.

I'm close to Austin now. Of course we'll see the capitol building and the bats, but I'm not sure what else. Live music. I wanna take him to Mexico. He won't be coming until September, so I wonder if November is too soon to travel on a GC. Dallas is probably better.

I won't be able to go for his interview. That may be a good thing. I'd probably end up taking over the whole thing, answering questions, showing pictures and cards, the whole bit.

He's never been here before. It's just one more thing that makes my heart melt. He's giving up so much to come to a place he's never experienced and make it work.

We've finally agreed on a rough path we want to go. We'll be here long enough for him to establish his legal credentials here, set up practice, and gain citizenship. Then we'll head back to Thailand to pursue Thai citizenship for myself. That'll take 3 or 4 years. Then we'll come back to the US. Options. We both want to create a position in which we have the ability to pursue the best option available to us. Thai citizenship laws are different according to the gender of the applicant and the process leaves a fair amount of wiggle room. With luck, we could be through in 2 years. I don't think any other 5-year period of my life will mean as much, or be as busy, as 2010-2015.

Oh yes! Lombard Street. If you come out here and my hubby's arrived, we should do something together! Take the ferry or spend some time on the pier. Gisele and Bryce can play together.

Girl, Mexico too I want us to go! Man so many ideas!

Wow, you both will be busy!!! Best of luck to your hubby. Hope it all works out. How long do you think he will need to go to law school here for be an attorney in US? Any great law schools in Texas? How does he feel about leaving Thailand when he could be a judge in the future (which actually could happen in US too I am sure).

And Vegas! Our reunion!!

Texas has Baylor, UT, St. Mary's, and I think U of Houston has a law school. Thank God it should only take a year or so before he can take the Bar Exam here.

About leaving his practice and chance to be a judge in Thailand, he's quiet about it. He can still be a lawyer in Thailand after gaining US citizenship, but the possibility to be a judge is lost forever. His concept of love is so... big... that it doesn't matter to him.

That's got to be the best thing about him. He showed me what unconditional love is. His answer to a lot of our tough moments has been "because I love you." To him it's just that simple. It knocks me on my bottom when I think about it.

How about you and your family? How do things look for you guys?

This is so therapeutic. This is one of my biggest worries. My husband is a footballer (soccer) and I don't know how it will be when he gets here. I don't even know how it works here so I feel so helpless. I think he'll just have to start over in another profession.
