Ok folks, I think it's safe to take me off the waiting for SIF/CC list and put me on the waiting for interview email list.

Yes, that's right! After all the stress and heartbreaks and sleepless nights and dreams of a possible RFE, my day has finally arrived...Thank you Almighty!

I followed you guys' advice and went home, made my self some good food, ate it watching Final Destination2 and then Untraceable(both awesome movies btw) and then was about to turn in when I remembered that the payment portal updates at 10:30pm and so I decided to check at 11:30 and there it was... That sweet little message in red saying my case was not eligible for further processing at NVC and ... who cares! It's done, over with. I'm so glad I'm in time for a June interview.

Thank you to all of you at VJ who are my second family now for all the help, support, advice and courage you have provided me all along. Could never have done it without ya'll.

Now, where do I go to party? hmmm...

Just spoke to an NVC operator who said my RFE paper is under review.... THANK GOD!

I was so worried it would be 2 weeks before they even opened it (like our 230 package)!

I have been praying for a June interview (or even July would be ok) if we could just get the CC before May 7!

At least now I feel like there is a chance!

Chintu, i guess you're chennai too? so am I - we got our CC on the 14th and now waiting for early june interview (since we barely missed cutoff date for may interviews). welcome aboard the chennai boat (me, SJ and you)!

yea for NVC stage, we only submitted the bangalore passport PCC since my wife got her passport at the end of october 2009, so within 6 months when we submitted our paperwork to the NVC (on april 1st). BUT for the consulate (since interview will be in june), we got our PCC from the local police station too in bangalore (she picks it up on monday). so the 1 yr validity is how long the PCC is valid for, but does not relieve one from not getting the local police station PCC. i would make sure that you also get the local PCC, just in case. SJ may be able to tell you more about the details of how to do so, since his wife's also in hyderabad...

Hey Hobo,

its almost same here My wife got her Passport PCC at the end of November, and she got her City/distrcit police cheif PCC in first week of March. we submitted our paperwork to the NVC on 03-29. So we good with the city/district police one. But I inquired with the Chennai consulate regarding the validity of the pcc ( they wrote me back, saying that both pccs have to be within 6 months of the interview date...eventhough they both valid of ONE FULL year... and even told me that the important thing for them is the Passport PCC only, not the Local/district police one. I know its no-brainer since NVC wanted both from us. anyway to-be safeside today she re-applied at the passport office again, along with the application she gave them thecopy of the city police pcc.

Hobo I think you need to get the passport office pcc again, since you got it before me.... E-mail the chennai iv inquiry. SJ what you know about this?

I did not know the Passport PCC had to be less than 6 months old. My wife's PCC was issued on 1/18. So, I guess it all depends on what date in June she has her interview. If it's before the 18th of June, then it will be less than 6months since she got her Passport PCC. I wonder if they will let her use the same one if its a couple more days than 6 months. I guess I'll wait till the interview date is assigned and then worry about this. Maybe I'll email Chennai about this when I get the date and find out if they will let it slide.

Congrats Sean!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Woot wooot

Guys.... I have a stupid question.

At the last minute, my joint sponsor's having cold feet and marital issues. For the sanity of all involved, she'd rather not sponsor if there is an alternative, but is willing to if there is no other option.

So we're working up the forms for my mom to be joint sponsor. We didn't do this from the beginning because it's tricky.

Situation:

My mom and I live together in her house. We both pay household bills, but it's not specific. I don't pay rent to her.

2008 tax status was MFJ, still legally married and maintaining a residence with The Ex for various reasons despite the fact that our marital relationship had been over for a few years (Long Story). Mid 2009 saw our divorce finalized and my subsequent marriage to Husby. Mid 2009 also saw The Ex and I move to different residences. Like I said, I'm with my mom. My son is with me.

2009 taxes were HOH with one dependant because I provided (much) over half of the support for my son even though we are living with my mom and Husby wasn't with us for the last 6 months of the year. My mom's 2009 filing status is single with no dependants. Essentially, there are two distinct households at the same residence.

Stupid Question: Does my mom need I-864 or I-864A? I'm thinking I-864 because our taxes don't intermingle at all. It's only the address that's the same. Or is a shared residence alone enough to make one a "household member"? Or... do we have the option to take our pick in which form to use?

See? It's tricky. If done correctly, Husby will be here soon. If screwed up, it's either going to cause 221g request for the right form or it's lying on a government document. Either way, Husby would be in for a long wait.

I am in the EXACT same situation. I filed as HOH, I live with my sister, and she is the back-up sponsor in case I need proof of more income. She filled out the I-864A. Since we both live at the same address, she is considered a household member-even though she filed her taxes as 'single-no depends'.
