Yes Please :innocent:

Quick update: (In the middle of researching)

Form I-612 is a waiver for the 2 year requirement. Says something about 512$ to submit the application? Shouldn't work/need this anyway since she doesn't have a 2 year requirement to be waived.

Other Documents?

Just called her and she said she has some documents from the embassy saying she is not subject to the 2 year requirement. She'll be scanning these and e-mailing them to me asap. Don't suppose anyone knows if NVC is expecting originals? I'll probably call them again later to check that.

May also call the number the NVC operator gave me a little later today, to see what they can do.

Still researching...

Sorry, haven't checked that one. Should I worry that hubby won't receive anything or he should not trust what he was told & he will still receive something. I just figured he needs the original interview letter.

It's no big deal even if he doesn't receive it. Nothing special in it.

I too was told I wouldn't receive anything and that the NVC letter would be sufficient however the package came on 04/15 and was dated 04/05.

SJ man, i truly feel your pain! I think you will get it this week. actually as long as you get it within the next 2 weeks, you should be in time for june interview. heck, I had my CC on the 14th and it would be really nice if NVC gave out interview dates when the cases get completed; seems like it does so for Delhi and Bombay, but not chennai - frustrating!!! so hang in there, dude! funny i just visited my wife last week and got back this AM from bangalore. one of the things i personally took care of is getting the PCC from the local police stattion (already got it from passport office). had to bribe the guy 1000 Rs to get the job done, but at least i feel good that I was there to help my wife get it...

anyway, you will get it this week - PICTURE it positively and it WILL happen!

Thanks for the support Hobo. I relly wish NVC moved a little faster on RFEs just because we were in line first. Oh well, I guess I still have time to make it in for a june interview.

SJ--SIF for you in today/tomorrow!

Thanks Sach, I really need to get some relief from all this unnecessary stress of the possibility of another RFE until I SIF/CC.

Removal of Conditions:

07/02/2012 - Sent I-751 packet via USPS

07/05/2012 - Packet delivered

07/09/2012 - Check cashed!

If you have the documents from the embassy, you shouldn't need the waiver.

As far as I understand, NVC wants originals. Julissa (estrellademiel) and Natalia (Mrs. Wife!) will be around. They have experience with J-1 and the NVC.

Good luck! Hopefully it'll get resolved quickly. Look on the bright side: You have the documents already. The only running around will be to the post office for her to overnight the originals to NVC with a copy of the DS-230 barcode cover sheet and a tiny letter explaining what the documents are.

Hi, I was RFEd on the same issue. All they want is proof that she doesn't have the 2HHR.

You can send them a copy of her visa and a copy of her DS2019.

Send proof for both visas.

I scanned my papers to my in laws in the US, they printed out and overnighted to NVC. I got LIF 8 business days after that.

I may have a copy of the cover letter I added with the papers. I'll PM you.

Good luck =)

Awesome, thank you so much.

And excellent timing btw, I was just starting the process of being on hold for who knows how long again, just to ask them if I could do exactly what you said to do :D

Good to know I'm not the only one that got dinged for this as well. I was beginning to wonder if I just got the new guy that didn't understand how to work the computer system. I actually sent them copies of her visa's, because it says "no 2 year requirement on them", I figured that would be enough. But now we know.

I was also going to post that they're looking for DS2019 documents, but you beat me to it :).

Also, some follow up:

I've been reading that getting the I-612 waiver can take a long time. I can't confirm this, but it's a heads up for anyone that does have the 2HHR.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks again. I'm glad I decided to no longer be a lurker.
