Reading that more interview dates will post this week.

Just wondering... do some embassies give the dates the 2nd week of the month and others the last or all embassies get scheduled at either time?

I know I am not CC yet, just thinking ahead to MAY!

is the CSB number the same as the NVC number?

Yep. CSB is the prefix for Casablanca. Like TKY for Tokyo and BNK for Bangkok.

If there is room leftover from the Second Week Scheduling then interviews are handed out again on the last week of the month. Not all embassies follow this, though.

Thea, I'm with you, hon! That interview letter can show up any time now.

Happy New Year, everyone! May it bring you plenty of laughter and joy! Love, The Five Gems

So how many business days does it usually take to get the RFE e-mail?

Recording says they sent a letter on Friday, so I'm just curious when I can expect to stop obsessing over checking my e-mail.

I know I can call and talk to an operator, but I really don't trust their competency. No offense to any NVC personnel.

Oh wait... they gave me the RFE, so yes, offense intended.

2 or 3 days. Or you may never see one if it's a false RFE. Even though they're nuts, you should probably call and ask anyway. You can always call right back and speak with another operator to confirm what the first one said.

Yeah, I suppose that's true as well.

Maybe it would give me a heads up as to what's missing as well if it's not a false RFE.

But thinking it's false is too wishful, I'm sure I've angered the gods of RFE somehow. Now I'll have to head to the store to buy a chicken for tonight's sacrifice.

On another note: do they only have 1 phone line? That thing is insanely busy almost all hours.

Every time I try to picture the NVC, I see this place with the greatest technology the 1970's has to offer, with computers that take up entire rooms, stacks of folders reaching the ceiling, random papers blowing around like tumble weed and all of it run by 2 people and 1 intern.

Monday humor, er What we learned today from RFE...

When speaking with someone from Maldives do not say "hello;" simply state "yes." Any "hello," will be followed with another "hello." This will continue as long as the hello's are exchanged. I believe my husband was up to 15 before I said "yes." And I'm not so sure they are familiar with Italy. After losing his patience, my husband is telling the police office, "Have you heard of pasta, how about pizza? I'm from Italy!!! I-T-A-L-Y." The lady on the line says "oh, O.K. I-T-E-E-L." :bonk: Turns out they sent the PCC last week without even receiving payment (we put 5 euros in an envelope and mailed it last week b/c they wouldn't accept bank transfer).

Priceless!

It was 4 biz days before we received the email - each time I called (at least once a day) the lady said they are preparing the email... Just call, but double check multiple times. As I posted earlier, if I had gone with what the first operator I would have had to resubmit!

Morning everyone, its very possible to get an interview for this week, I know Egypt does them at the end of the month. My g/f case was complete at NVC on March 18th and she got her interview email on March 28th. She tracked the only package going to Egypt and it left a day after completion. I tracked on the DHL site there were only 3 that were sent and they all arrived this morning 10am Egypt time, there is a 7 hour difference from me to them. So my case was complete on April 19th only one day after my g/f so maybe I will get my date end of the week. We shall see. It will be for June though as my friends was for May so we for sure missed that month.

Yeah, this is why I'm planning on waiting until I actually get the list. I mean, I hate to wait, but I would hate to have things even more complicated/messed up cause they didn't mention something on the list.

I'm not sure it really matters too much anyway though, I'm pretty sure this RFE confirms we won't make our hopeful interview date of mid-late June. But all you can do is say "well crapola" and keep kicking the papers back to them.

Ah, yes... the RFE gods. I don't know how I forgot about them.

And that's totally my perception of NVC, too! Complete with paper airplanes made of PCCs and original, foreign-language marriage certificates -- image courtesy of Sachinky.

Love the humor... but understand completely.

I spoke to 3 operators on Friday and still don't have the email (though the AVR said its mailed on Friday).

The ONE thing all 3 operators agreed on was that I only needed the one document to be complete. It turned out to be the original of our marriage contract... as the 2nd and 3rd operatotrs agreed on that.

So I sent it via UPS late Friday evening and it arrived at 10:04 this morning. I used the bar code sheet from a false RFE for my 230 packet and sent a cover letter also.

If you can get some agreement on what is missing... I say print another bar code sheet and get the papers out ASAP!
