My AOS finally was entered into the system yesterday. I really wonder if calling does make a difference?? Anyway, the AVR was actually updated this morning. NVC is a funny thing!

 Same here, I called friday night and it was the same message of them sending me mail on 4/15. Now the message says, they are awaiting the biographic forms from the petitioner, and once they receive the packet, they will review which can take from 6-8 weeks.

Hopefully they get my husbands IV package sent from Egypt soon, he mailed it Thursday. Can't wait to get the message of our case being closed, it's going to be sweet music to my hears!

Hey lady - here is the link to the DS-230 from the VJ Wiki:-

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/DS-230

You can also access the list from the DOS payment portal under applicant document processing.

1. Name, DOB & NVC case # should be written on the back of each passport style photo.

2. NVC case # top right hand corner of all your documents (I used pencil because I did not want to mark my originals).

3. Barcoded cover sheet from the payment portal.

Here is a link to a template for a cover letter. I didn't use this one because I sent the DS-230 package directly to the NVC and not my husband:-

http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/DS-230_Cover_Letter

Someone else jump in if I've not remembered something!!

Thank you so much.Ok, i read about the things i need to send NVC, then i see step #5 on the NVC site, that states '' Review the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General-specific information. '' . This is the specific info on the Embassy i should have my interview at,they say '' To speed processing, please send us one photograph for each applicant regardless of age one week in advance of your interview. Write the name of the applicant on the back of the photograph and send them by mail to the following address: .... '' .My questions are : do I really need to send them a photo of me one week before my interview??And second, they say : ''An applicant who is applying for a conditional resident visa CR1 and CR2 (Conditional Resident) based on a marriage to a U.S. citizen of less than two years duration should bring to the interview documents demonstrating the marital relationship is bona fide. This can include photographs together, e-mails, letters, or other evidence of communication between the married persons.''

-i am applying for IR-1 visa, i have been married for 4 years, so i do not have to bring any bona fide marriage docs? Thanks alot.

You absolutely have to bring bonafide evidence of marriage regardless of whether you've been married for 2 or 10 years.

The CO may or may not look at it but you should be prepared to provide evidence when called upon to do so.

2 pics for the DS230 package, 2 for the medical. Has to be a one-month recent photograph. US visa specifications. 5x5cm.

Fill it in and print it out. Print out two copies so you have one saved for later.

There are some fancy tricks with CutePDF and the likes but I'm afraid I can't help you there.

You won't be able to re-write it, but after you finished, go to print, then choose PDF -- save as a PDF for your own records. Some of the fields are faulty, just hand write whatever you cannot type.

Does my husband ( the petitioner) needs to send his civil documents along with my DS-230 packet or only me? After he receives the ds 230 packet from me , he needs to send it along with his I-864 packet? Is that correct? Thanks
