NVC April 2010 Edition!

Just a heads up on the RFE front. I had three operators tell me three different reasons for the RFE. One said the birth certificate looked like a photo copy, the next said it was question #30 and then the final operator said that it was #30, missing police certificate and that the birth certificate had to be from Libya, not Italy...

Make sure you know how many RFE, what exactly they are so the process doesn't get delayed. My RFE checklist is waiting patiently in the envelope for it's two other friends (birth cert. and police reports) to join it before its long journey to NVC.

I used the barcode from the false rfe that said our 230 packet wasn't there (which it was).

Then I sent an explanation letter too that gave the operators name and time and date of my call as well as what paper I was including.

Hope thats enough!

Yes, the copy is ok for the I-130 but they need originals at NVC. They will give them back at the interview. I know what you mean though. The original Arabic and the certified English translations we only have one copy of each and had to send them in to NVC. That's why I did the signature confirmation and I put on the cover letter to please return the documents to my husband at the interview.

She can use the barcode sheet from the IV bill. She doesn't have to wait for the RFE email.

I wouldn't worry too much about the residence thing.

I listed mine since age 12 I think. That was when we moved to the house I live now. And didn't get RFEd for that.

Some people listed since birth and were fine too.

It all depends on who is reviewing your documents I think.

Keep thinking positive guys! Don't think about RFEs too much, you may attract it to you.

I know ! I've been there!!! My email came next day so it was not a long wait and my case was complete 6 days later after the avr change others have waited longer because the hurry with sending the rfe without the email others not...

FYI on the RFE's - I know it's a PITA and pre-empting is great. We picked up a mistake and were already in the process of correcting it but when the checklist came in (only 2 days later)... it has something else listed as well.

IMO ... wait the extra day or two for the checklist. You never know what the hell it is they want.

mine the operator told me that was a paper and I told her but I dont have that paper and she said well you have problems.,.and when the email arrived it says what to do in case I dont posses any longer the paper that they were asking...really easy

now I have to wait for my Interview date... will be scheduled on second week of the month (might be on May 10th to 14th) ...well Tokyo Embassy conducts interviews only on Monday mornings... hope I can get the Interview early June...
