I didn't buy the tickets to the US though. Only the domestic flight for the interview.

I'll only buy to the US when I have my visa in hands!

Oh Gosh, this process is so stressful. I hate flying!!!! I start sweating my @ss off just thinking about it.

So I'll suffer to fly to Rio de Janeiro, at the interview, to fly back home and to fly out to the US (the worst-10h flight)

God help me!!!!! The entire immigration process is so painful and stressful!!!!!

We are almost in the same boat! My husband is working on getting his corrected passport now and should have it within the next few days. I have already gone through EVERY SINGLE LINE to make sure everything is complete and correct. I wish you the best!

Yeah, I would fill it out, look it over again in two days, review, revise every other day till I thought I had it all right. If I get a RFE, I will have a friggin cow! lol

Someone mentioned there is a updated DS-230 form, make sure your husband has the latest one. These forms are quite annoying since there is not much information about it except on these forums. I don't know what I would have done if these forums didn't exist, hehe.

I hope we are all done with this process soon so that we can be with our loved one's for good

I got the form that expires 02/29/2012 and I filled it in and sent it to my husband to print and sign. Thanks for the heads up. I know, this forum helped me out a lot too. Yeah, I hope were all done soon.

Great news on the passport. You have a few options outside the postoffice which will take at least 2 weeks, #1 you can have him go to the DHL office and mail it and it will come in 3 days. The cost is 300le. Or you can call DHL here in the states and they will pick it up at his house and you can pay for it to be sent to you here in the states and thats 4-5 days, cost is 100.00 So depending on how fast you want it theres a few options.

My husband will mail it from Egypt to NVC. He said he would have it here in 3-4 days. Not exactly sure where or how he will do this or the cost, but I'm happy with 3-4 days. Its so exciting. I want no RFEs and a quick case close and an interview date soon...its all I day dream about these days. Hopefully tomorrow, the NVC will have news about my AOS I submitted last week.

No worries, Brooke. Right there with you. Husband is off on a live training mission on Monday for 2 weeks so that means if we don't get a CC and anything else does f^%k up, it's just gonna have to wait ...

Things I've learned dealing with RFE's:

1.The Italian post office will not sell you stamps if they have already asked someone to go get them, which means you have to go to

the Tabbachi shops, who sometimes have them.

2.Nobody at the bank, the post office, Western Union or the other bank in Italy have ever heard of a cashier's check/money order/bank draft. If you need one of these in Italy they are called Assegno Circolare. (We need one in UK Pounds for the UK PCC). We're even considering having my parents bring one over from the states next week...

3.Expedited mail to the Maldives from Italy takes over 7 days and cost 40E (We chanced it with the cheaper version).

4.Somehow my husband original birth certificate (from Libya) is in Livorno - they actually requested that coins be taped to paper and mailed to them for the .70E fee.

5.Being with family and eating gelato makes up for all these other things.

You will be put up on the list once your RFE response has been delivered to NVC. This list is updated by when NVC received your LAST package so as to get an accurate timeframe for CC.

My husband received two emails in his email address, it shows us that NVC received our case and allocated us a case number.This was pretty fast!!The emails show where he should pay the $70 bill ( which he will do today) and also contains the choice of agent form that i should fill in.Now my question is, can i fill in that choice of agent , sign it , date it , scan it and send it thrue email to them, or that form should be printed out and sent thrue mail to NVC??Thanks !!

Email the choice of agent form from your email address. Use the VJ template that is found in the wiki. Fill it up accordingly and send it in. It'll be accepted in 2 days.
