My husband got his passport today! So, that was the last of the papers he was collecting for his DS230. Tomorrow, we will go through them together and make sure he's got everything, and hopefully mail them off by Thursday. In Egypt, the Post Offices are closed Friday. At this point, I'm so happy he pulled everything together. This paperwork can overwhelm you and consume your life...glad it's almost over. I'm still counting down my days before I leave to Cairo, 5 more weeks of school too! Congrats to those of you moving forward. For those of us still submitting docs...we'll have our interview date before we know it! :thumbs:

We are almost in the same boat! My husband is working on getting his corrected passport now and should have it within the next few days. I have already gone through EVERY SINGLE LINE to make sure everything is complete and correct. I wish you the best! :thumbs:

Someone mentioned there is a updated DS-230 form, make sure your husband has the latest one. These forms are quite annoying since there is not much information about it except on these forums. I don't know what I would have done if these forums didn't exist, hehe.

I hope we are all done with this process soon so that we can be with our loved one's for good :star:

you and your co-sponsor combined must meet the minimum income. so if you both don't make enough, but together you do, it's fine.

and if they CURRENTLY have and income high enough that should be okay. but 3 years HELPS it look more stable.

If you have a joint sponsor who is filling out the I864, they will need to make 125% above the Poverty Line for their household size.

If you have a household member/co-sponsor who is filling out the I864A, you can combine your income/assets with them to go above the poverty line.

Your current income is what matters. 3 year taxes help to build a more solid case.

Great news on the passport. You have a few options outside the postoffice which will take at least 2 weeks, #1 you can have him go to the DHL office and mail it and it will come in 3 days. The cost is 300le. Or you can call DHL here in the states and they will pick it up at his house and you can pay for it to be sent to you here in the states and thats 4-5 days, cost is 100.00 So depending on how fast you want it theres a few options.
