Sachi - the husband and I had discussions about the 2009 taxes. We didn't include it because we only did what was requested. Fingers crossed that because we weren't RFE'd for it last week, we will be OK. Either way I think I will need them for the interview.

OUR JOURNEY SO FAR: (dd/mm/yyyy)

16/07/10 - POE LAX (256 days NOA1 to interview)

Did I make a mistake???

As soon as I got the cover sheet for the DS230 package, I sent it via UPS and it was delivered on April 7. Yesterday the AVR said I was missing info so I spoke to an operator who said my husband needed to send the DS230 package. I told her I knew it was delivered last week and she said ok it just needs to catch up with everything.

So this morning I have an email about the 230 package that says I should use the enclosed cover sheet.

Did I make a mistake by not waiting for this sheet?

I used the cover sheet that was sent when the IV bill showed paid.

Thanks and congrats to everyone who has interviews now!

Thanks... I have been so worried about the I864 and praying I didn't leave anything out of it, but the operator said it had been accepted (I hope that means they are finished with it).

I feel pretty sure about sending everything with the 230 packet, so I hope this means SIF next week!

Then praying for a June interview!

We found a copy of the Libyan birth certificate and we only knew it was a birth certificate b/c his mom wrote copia di certificato di nascita in the upper right hand corner! So I guess we'll get the letter or any record available from Italian consulate in Tripoli. Then onto the PCC for Maldives - Maldives says that hubby will not register in the system since he has been Italian resident, never of Maldives, so maybe they'll give him another letter and our RFE's will all be addressed with silly letters from around the world!??

Sach or anyone else, do you have an email template for requesting an earlier interview date? NVC op told me that i missed the cutoff for the may interview (kinda expected it)for Chennai and would be in line for early june. i figure there's no harm in trying to ask for a late may (wont know if you dont ask), seeing that they're still scheduling as of today... :help:

Hobo--You can't ask the Consulate to prepone your date UNTIL your date has actually been assigned. If you do contact them, you will be told that they can't do anything until NVC schedules it. CR-1 dates are assigned by NVC, the consulate can't do any moving up/down until it has actually been scheduled.

Your interview should be scheduled for June sometime during the week of 10-14 May.

Sean John--Yaay! You're back in the game!

sorry i forgot to update here in this thread. That list for interview waiting people is getting shorter, but it needs to be gone and everyone needs a date! Anyway, here is the full details of Mhay's interview:

Ok, Mhay gave me all the information about her interview. Here is her timeline for the day:

5:30 am at the line

6:00 am open the gate

STEP 1: Submit appointment letter, DS-230,2pcs 2x2pic.and they will give u number.(6:30am)

STEP 2: Pre-Screening <they will ask some questions there > (7:00am)

STEP 3: Finger Scanning (7:35am)

STEP 4: Consular Interview(8:00am)

STEP 5: They will call your number to where you can get your pink stub and the paper you need to fill up for the delivery of your visa.(address)(8:07am)

STEP 6: payment AIR21 ( 8:10am)

Here are the questions that they asked her during the prescreening and interview with the consular officer:

Q&A at the pre-screener:

1. Who is your petitioner?

2. How old are you?

3. What is the name of your petitioner?

4. Address of your petitioner?

5. Job of your petitioner?

6. Where did u meet?

7. When did u meet him? and how?

8. When did the relationship start?

9. Your petitioner has a kid? Does the kid live w/him?

10. First time u get married?

11. How many times does your partner get married?

12. When was the last time you see your husband?

13. When he visited here, how long did he stay?

14. Do you have any pictures, remittance or cards with you? Give me at least 5pcs of cards.

Consular interview

1. Who will petition you?

2. How long have you been married?

3. Where does your husband live now?

4. Where and when did you meet your husband?

5. Where in US will you live?

6. What is your husband's job?

7. When is the last time you saw him personally?

8. Who are the kids in your wedding pictures?? Name them.

"Your visa is approved, go to waiting area and wait for your number to be called." I smiled and say THANK YOU MA'AM...then after 2mins they call my number to go to window 37 to get the pink stub and told me to pay at AIR 21..

Then they said after you pay, you can go.

Mhay said that her consular interviewer was very soft spoken...hard to hear. They started the interview in english and the interviewer thought that she couldnt understand the english, so she brought in an interpreter. She did mention that one of the other consular officers in the next room over was quite loud too, so it made it even harder to hear her consular officer, but everything turned out good. Now we just wait for the visa. I checked the air21 site to see if her tracking number was loaded yet, and of course it isnt. I figure it will be a day or 2 before it is loaded. It looks like I will be buying her ticket for her to fly on the 8th of May, so we have about 3 weeks until we are together again! Thanks for all the support and help. Mhay wanted me to thank everyone for their prayers too.

Congrats... and thans for posting the details..

I think so too. They usually take about 10 days to get the mail and enter it,so last week would be a safe assumption. I just hope I am in time for June.
