I spoke to an operator this morning and told me that they have completed scheduling interviews for May and that I will have to wait then until the 2nd week of May for a June interview date

I dont know if I would just have to believe her or will I try my luck to call NVC again tonight?

Oh #######!! ..this is not what I was expecting..my mind was set for a MAY interview!

Aww Jrd!! I can't believe the embassy in Manila filled up that quick! When I talked to the operator at NVC, I asked if it was really busy. She said it was "pretty busy". From her tone I took it .... eh, so so. I wouldn't have expected it would be filled!! So sorry to hear but keep ur head up and call the embassy maybe?? You might be able to get moved up..I dunno.

But I just read from their website that the NVC will forward immigrant visa cases to the embassy of manila only when interview slots are available because the NVC,NOT THE EMBASSY,schedules immigrant visa interviews ..I dont know why it's like that? ..I thought it would be according to the available dates given by the embassy?

Alright... Sassy, JRD, it's gonna be just fine. We're all gonna bug the ####### out of them tomorrow. 8 am. 10 am. 12 pm. 3 pm. 7 pm. and 11 pm. Yep. This is what happens when girls get their hopes up only to be let down.... Bad, bad things. At least lots of annoyance. Hehehe. After that comes a very nice letter to the embassy.

The Bangkok schedule goes up around the end of the month. When it does, I'm going to find the least busy day and send an e-mail requesting Husby interview that day, or any day. Oh... This is not over so easily, NVC. This is my husband we're talking about. I miss him!

Kevin, Thanks. You're right. It could be worse. We could be stuck in NOA2 Waiting Land again. At least this way we have timeframes (wait until the second week in May) and "friendly" NVC operators to call and chit chat with.

Vanessa, come play with us as often as you can! Your health is more important, though, and your VJ family is always here for you. That's what family does: No matter how little you see each other, you're all still there, caring about each other. I hope your case whizzes through NVC! Will you be able to make it to the interview? Everyone seems to say it's necessary. The guys with fiancee's in Vietnam like to say for the USC to go and have the fiancee bring the USC's passport to the interview. So even if the USC can't physically be in the building, the CO can see that he's in the country with her. With two jobs, that may not be easy, but it's an idea. Good luck, hon!

Thanks Bears...you really are such a sweetie! I actually just came here to post something I found out when talking to one of the nice NVC operators just now and saw your posting.

So, I don't want to bring in any bad news, and who knows...maybe every embassy is different...but the operator told me that they just finished scheduling May today, and it was not specific to Casablanca. In fact when I asked specifically about our embassy she told me she didn't have specifics on how full our embassy is. I was calling because we actually DON'T want a May interview. I will be at the interview...even though standing outside because they won't let me in ... but I will be there. However, I work right up through the last week in May so we actually have been trying to time it on purpose so there's no chance of a May interview. I am ready to send in AOS and have just been debating on what day to send it in. As I was explaining, the operator interrupted me and said "Ma'am, you don't have to worry because there is no chance you will get a May interview even if your case was completed today." So, I'm sending in AOS tomorrow.

I debated whether or not to even say this here because everyone is on such pins and needles waiting for interviews, but finally decided that knowledge is power and it's best to share. Like I said, who knows maybe someone can still call and work some magic, but it doesn't sound like it from what the NVC operator just told me. Congratulations to all who did make it this month! And I have seen others post an interview date later than the 2nd week so is this really accurate? I just don't know but I'm sending positive thoughts for everyone. Oh, and I just remembered...a big congrats to Scott and Mhay for the visa! How awesome!!

Right kari! besides its still friday..they told us earlier that they would schedule interviews the whole week!!?How come they now tell us that they have completed scheduling interviews for May??!!I dont think we deserve such kind of answers!

We'll give them what they want then!!CALL & ASK!CALL & ASK!CALL & ASK!!besides its their job to answer telephone calls right?..so we'll let them do their job..!!

Now we know not to waste our efforts calling to fuss. Would've been kinda fun, though.

Oh well... there's still the letter to the embassy. It can't hurt to ask. Maybe they can special request the case file from NVC or something. Who knows. Either way, Husby has to stay through August to finish up his cases anyway. I have no right or reason to complain.

After a cup of hot cocoa, I've decided eff' NVC; we all know they're full of #######. I'm going to try again tomorrow. If still no interview, then I'll believe it. No... then I'll just e-mail the embassy and nicely explain that Husby has many cases and many days in which he's obligated to be in court and how some of these have been scheduled months in advance. Maybe if I request a reasonable day in the middle of May, they'll crack and grant it. It's worth a shot.

I say never hurts to try.

That's what I originally thought, but the Embassy here in Auckland said they haven't received my file, so I called and the operator I spoke to said that it hasn't been sent yet.

Tharnsur found out that the case stays at NVC until the interview is assigned. Then it's sent. You can try tracking through DHL for fun. Or wait. The AVR might be updated to say "You case was forwarded to the Embassy in .... On ....." I think it's a day or two after the interview is assigned. PM Tharnsur. He or BB Mariposa should be able to tell you their experience.
