Tatyana--For Mumbai, visas are mostly issued on the same day. If they are highly busy or if there is a computer glitch and stuff, it might take a day or two extra.

In your husband's case, since he lives in Bombay, he can just return the next day and pick it up.

For the rest of the folks, it is mailed by DHL in 2-3 days. Which is why my departure date is planned a week after the interview.

That weekend should be safe enough, I'd think, if you're indeed planning on purchasing the tickets prior to the interview.

Thanks for answering! I guess will wait to talk to hubby to see what he thinks. Maybe we will buy a ticket for lets say the evening of the 26th & change it if we have to. Since Father in Law works for the airlines maybe it won't cost anything to change.

Sachinky, Hubby has his interview on the 27th of May, and I am flirting with the idea of going ahead an purchasing his ticket to come back home with me on the 12th of June... So from your earlier post.. looks like that is plenty of time to allow for delivery of the visa right???
