Here's the part we've all been waiting for. Your sign in fails! What happens AFTER you get a SIGN IN FAILED?

Check the AVR/confirm with an operator that your case has indeed completed processing at NVC.

CR-1 interviews are scheduled by NVC. The interview letter will be e-mailed to both the beneficiary and the petitioner.

You can track the DHL packages sent out from Portsmouth, NH to your consulate.

Keep bugging NVC till they assign your date. Not too much, though.

You can check the US Consulate's website for updates on interviews. Most consulate's have an interview schedule updated bi-weekly.

You can also call your consulate for regular updates on how busy the consulate is that month.

Get your medical out of the way. The medical is country specific, so check out your regional forums.

Usually, you need 2-3 photographs, passport, interview letter, and your medical records but I'm sure requirements differ.

This is specifically for Indian beneficiaries:

For the medical you will need to book an appointment at an hospital designated by the Americal Consular Affairs.

Carry your interview letter, original passport, 2 pictures, and prior medical records to the medical.

Documents to be submitted to VFS (This is for Calcutta to Bombay but I'm sure the requirements are pretty much the same everywhere):

--Appointment letter.

--DS230 Part I and II.

--2 Pictures

--Medical Report

--Rs. 397 for DHL services.

--Photocopy of EVERY page of your passport.

--Photocopy of Marriage Certificate, Birth Certificate, PCCs. (Optional)

Hello all, I've been asked this question several times via private message so I'll try to clarify and if anyone here is due to provide other details please do so.

On the I-864, the issue of current annual income is refers to YOUR expected/projected income for the current year. This means 2010. In order to correctly answer the question on your 864 form, you must enter the income that you think/believe will be your annual income for 2010. FOR ME, I PROJECTED MY 2010 ANNUAL INCOME TO BE THE SAME AS MY 2009 so to avoid having to prove ability to sustain income of 2009. As indicated on your I 864 instructions, evidence of income is not necessary unless you are asked by a government official. BUT IT DOES NOT HURT TO SEND AS MUCH AS YOU CAN TO AVOID UNNECESSARY RFEs.

When the I 864 asks for your three most recent years'income, they are asking for your 3 most recently filed tax years. THIS COULD MEAN 2006, 2007, 2008. FOR those THAT HAVE RECENTLY FILED 2009, IT WOULD BE 2007, 2008, 2009.

If you have only filed 2006, 2007, 2008, YOU CAN STILL SEND YOUR TRANSCRIPTS OR TAX RETURNS AND ATTACHMENTS FOR 2006, 2007, 2008 SINCE THE FILING DEADLINE FOR TAX YEAR 2009 ISN'T UNTIL APRIL 15, 2010. However, you should be prepared to provide copies of your tax return for 2009 ( or transcript if available ) ready for the interview. Personally, I will be calling the IRS for a transcript for 2009 since I have just recently filed my 2009 tax.

Hope this clarifies because some people are filling in 2009 annual income in the current year's annual income box. And some people are mistakenly filling in the year-to-date income in the current ANNUAL income box.

Right, just adding on to SPS's words:

For the tax year portion, which is part 25, I believe, use whatever is there on your 2009, 2008 and 2007 W-2s.

For the annual individual income, you can put the same amount as the 2009 W2 if you still have that same job/earning the same salary.

For others who HAVE changed jobs recently, use the PROJECTED INCOME FOR THIS COMING YEAR. Back it up with employment letter and/or paystubs.

So if you earn $2,000 a month right NOW (even if the job is a month old), then your current individual annual income is $24,000.

If you claim assets, don't forget to mail in your bank statements reflecting that balance.

When I sent mine there was talk in threads of an auto response email after emailing. So I panicked and rang NVC and was told that only comes in after the acceptance.

I read about the auto-response in other threads. When we emailed choice of agent, we received response the next day.

This was the email message we received:

"Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The NVC has received the Agent of Choice selection. The Immigrant Visa

Application (DS 230) processing fee bill will be sent to the designated

agent on the case. The fee must be paid according to the instructions

before the instruction packet will be sent.

I think there is no way around with NVC, even when we are DONE with them, we still hear that creepy allow bla bla bla.

It's soooo gooooood to start the month DONE with them! Can't wait to receive the interview email!!!!!!!!!!!!!
