VJ for me definitely! And I stay there ALL DAY!

Yeh, getting any other relative other than your child or spouse is a nightmare Tat. Even your brother or sister isn't considered "immediate" family by immigration standards. Really very very wrong, but they just don't care about your family Makes me so mad, how dare they honestly.

Brothers and sisters fall under the 4th preferance catagory. Here is the link to visa bulletin. According to this Indian applicants will have to wait for 10 years. You cannot petition for them. Your husband will have to petition after he becomes a US citizen. He can Naturalize after three years based on marriage to a US citizen. So you are looking at around 13-15 years for the entire process.

13-15?! Thats crazy!!!! But why India specifically? Did I miss something?! Thanks for the link will check it out. I guess Microsoft would be the way for him to go.

You know I am from Ukraine & I think its between 2-3 yrs to petition for a sibling. Actually maybe a little bit more. We came here in 91 & my sister joined us in 95 but since then I think I heard where other ppl came sooner.

Also why doesen't India offer where you can win a greencard like other countries do?

I almost wish my hubby had overstayed but yet I didn't want him to be illegal so I told him we should do it the legal way not knowing the wait will be so long!

Same here... I was saying we'll be together in no time, thinking that doing everything legally is the most important thing....I will stay behind on the forum once I"m done, advising people that the best way to immigrate is to jump over the fence. Will cost the least of money and you'll be together in no time...And bring some bacon in pockets in case there are guard dogs at the border. Mmmmmmm bacon......

I really wanna call them, but after I found out that they keep logs of when you call, and taking into account that I called everyday for about two weeks (sometimes twice a day) and last time I called them was wednesday I really dont' know....I'm scared of pissing them off

Yeh, Monday, Wednesday and Friday..LOL That one part of the recording says that anyway - "If it's been more than 2 days since you called, please feel free to call again and let us know how we may serve you!" It's something like that anyway, I never make it past the part where they offer up pressing 5

Well, folks. Its friday, 3:50 in the PM MST.. and I SERIOUSLY thought that I'd have an interview (WE ALL) would have an interview by today. Last week, I was begging for THIS week to come.. now Im just because A.) It feels like we might see an interview in OCTOBER and B.) we dont use that smiley often here..

Alicia snap out of it right now!!!! I am slightly depressed about not having the interview date, but relieved on another hand to find out that by NVC's definition the "second week of April" is the third week of April not the 5th week of November.... Cause with them you never knowwwwwwwwwwww........ When I'll go camping next time I will tell horror stories with the flash light - .....and then the NVC swallowed the paperwork and sent a little checklist which said in bloody letters "I know what you did last summer".....

Now let's rejoice together everyone please sing along.....

Who cares what they think & who you piss of. Those operators that answer the phone have nothing other to do then just serve as operators. I would worry if we wore calling the person who actually reviews the files and/or schedules the interviews which operators do neither. They might as well write a book out of our phone calls full of questions. Thats my take on it.

Yep... found out the hard way... When I tried to play the whole I haven't heard anything in some time card - and they told me "well it shows here you called yesterday" So I was like "I DID????? NO WAY????? THAT WAS YESTERDAY???? "
