We have not received his case as yet, maybe it will be here shortly, It was completed at NVC 31st March which is last week, please can you give it some time to get here?

I realize you do NOT have the case yet. My question was how busy was the embassy so we can see if we would make it for May scheduling. I know it may be there shortly- however, the USCIS as well as the NVC use the term "shortly" very liberally and quite frankly sir/madam, we have been waiting since September 2009. I will give it some time to get there as I have no other choice. However, I do feel as if my bringing whatever you need directly to you, at my expense, would save both time, energy and resources, as the NVC is as slow as MUD.

Heyyyyyyyyyyyy.... Don't give up! You will get your interview letter next week, we all will.... Although today I had a vision - it's 50 years later, and we are still sitting on VJ, wondering what the hold up with NVC is, while discussing our teeth implants and new and improved models of wheel chairs.... I already fill like certain parts of me are getting covered in spider web from lack of use....

Actually Tat, the blood relative is the only one who can and has to be naturalized first. It takes forever and most people give up

When the hubby gets here and gets his citizenship, then he can petition for his sister and her family. It can take a while, though. Like... 10 to 15 years. But! It's possible!

Background story: Ex-husband is Thai, born in the US. His mom has citizenship. His mom petitioned her sister and her sister's family. They waited 13 years until they were issued a visa.

Yup would have to agree on that. the wait times for other relatives, even blood siblings, is like 2-3 yrs! pretty bad...the visa priorities are reserved for immediate relatives (like US!!!). siblings really fall on the wayside on that level. it didnt used to be that way, but nowadays, much different! they're probably better off maybe by trying to get here on an H1B or even a business visa, rather than an immigrant one and then adjust status...

I was just reading your posts about immigration stuff. Argh

Dont even get me started about illegal people who get married and gets the GC in 3 months.

I have a friend, she overstayed her J1 for about 3 years (yah, 3 yrs illegal). She got married the same day I did (10/09). She already has her GC and they didnt even gave her a hard time at the interview. Just asked some regular questions and issued her the card.

So why people who was illegal and left the country have such a hard time? I mean, it's ok to adjust if you are illegal but at least file for a waiver and get in the same line as the others waiting overseas, you know. Its sooo unfair.

I really like her but it's so unfair!!!!! She didnt have to spend any money with waivers and she was also working illegally already.

That pisses me off. Really!

Yeh, getting any other relative other than your child or spouse is a nightmare Tat. Even your brother or sister isn't considered "immediate" family by immigration standards. Really very very wrong, but they just don't care about your family Makes me so mad, how dare they honestly.

I just hung-up from NVC! No new news re: interviews. The operator said that NVC is scheduling interviews this week!

apparently I didn't see anyone of us have received a interview recetnly!

Anybody has any updates?

yeh, they lie Dr. LOL They told half of us this week and the other half they told next week. Last I was told by NVC, interviews will be scheduled next week and to call back a week from this coming Monday.

Brothers and sisters fall under the 4th preferance catagory. Here is the link to visa bulletin. According to this Indian applicants will have to wait for 10 years. You cannot petition for them. Your husband will have to petition after he becomes a US citizen. He can Naturalize after three years based on marriage to a US citizen. So you are looking at around 13-15 years for the entire process.
