My wife wanted to fill out the I130 application for her siblings but one of her friends is now telling her that you can't do that anymore. the only option is to apply for parents, once they become citizen, they would be able to apply for their children. is that something new?

Are we still able to go through I130 for siblings immigration? if its still the case, is it usually taking people about 12 to 14 years to get here? any information would be very much appreciated

And the friend knows the new information because he works at USCIS?

Your wife can petition her siblings without any problems. Expect long wait time for the visa number to become available (10-23 yrs depending on country where the beneficiary is from).

Hello,

tell your friend that they don't know nothing about immigration, :bonk:

Who May File Form I-130?

b]1. If you are a U.S.citizen you must file a separate Form I-130 for each eligible relative. You may file a Form I-130 for:

A. Your husband or wife;

B. Your unmarried child under age 21;

C. Your unmarried son or daughter age 21 or older;

D. Your married son or daughter of any age;

E. Your brother(s) or sister(s) (you must be age 21 or older);

F. Your mother or father (you must be age 21 or older).[/b]

Good luck,and file I 130 for her siblings,the fastest the better

go to uscis.gov .click on forms and the I 130 with instructions it is there. :thumbs:

if she is a USC of course she can.

depending from what country the sibling is from, it is faster to petition a parent and then the parents petitions for the child, but that depends on the waiting of the category. With that said, it doesn't mean that USC siblings cannot petition for siblings.
