It's not that at all. I use the economy each and every day to do my 'co-operative' part in things.

Just because I choose not to use one service does not inconvenience others.

I don't decrease the efficiency of it, I actually save it by not using it more than anything. If I can stop it from spending thousands of dollars on me, I call that more of a benefit for the system itself.

If I could have a limitless HSA account, that's more beneficial for everyone because I'm not burdening a system and at the same time if I don't use it, I have that much more money when I retire. Like I said though, the limits are very small on HSAs and what you are allowed to contribute.

My goal in life is to never have to use anything like Social Security and there you go, I contributed and paid for those who do and yet won't benefit from it one damn bit. There's my sacrifice.

I have friends and family who I will gladly help out in a heartbeart, but I should never be expected to help anyone out or contribute to a complete stranger if I so choose not to.

Well, yes it does. If everyone who considers themselves too genetically perfect to benefit, then only the genetically imperfect are left in the pool, nice. This genetically imperfect pool is automatically more expensive than a pool with mixed genetics - premiums are necessarily expensive and insurance companies do whatever they can to prevent expensive services being accessed, they can't afford to run their company and allow those who need the services to get them - rather like the mess the system is in now, wouldn't you say?

You can salve your conscience by pretending you are 'doing everyone a favour' by not being in the pool, but that is ####### and somewhere you probably know that.

Sorry, insurance is not the problem of the system, whether you want to potray it as such or not.

If a group of people want to get together, throw their money in a pot and share it, that is their perogative. However, that is not mine.

I do no harm to the system and maybe I don't do any good either, but it is neutral if you really want to try and play this back and forth game.

I'm comfortable in my life and that's all that matters. I don't burden people, I don't bother people, and I expect the same. I take care of my business, contribute where I can/where I feel is necessary and go about my life accordingly.

My simple question is this...who would pay for you, if someday, you were to end up in a coma somewhere, all you and your friends/relatives bank accounts totally tapped out from paying for your extended hospital stay?

Let's say they tell your family your chances for recovery are good, given more time and treatment. Perhaps you expect them to euthanize you because you have no insurance and nobody you know can pay for you?

It's more comfortable to feel that your decisions don't impact on others even when they do. I'm not saying that any one decision is crucial, but that your decision does play its part and contributes to this whole mindset that good health is something that everyone has equal access to and can make equal decisions on in order to maintain.

I find it rather distasteful that you consider market forces sufficient to ensure that those born with disability are able to survive on an equal footing with others. I can't quite see how that works. Disability normally means an unequal struggle to gain employment, an unequal struggle to gain a living wage, and then to cap it all, an inability to get health insurance because those who are disabled can't benefit the insurance system. It's simply egregious to postulate such a theory.

You can find it distasteful all you want, but I find it more hilarious than anything that thousands of people or even millions for that matter can gripe about it being a problem, when if they all left their current insurance company and banded together and created one that was non-discriminatory, it would work just fine. Unfortunately the imbeciles don't know how the market works and can't seem to figure out that they have the capability to do this and would rather look to government to fix a problem that they could readily and more efficiently fix on their own.

That's your workable solution is it? Nice to know you think it's ok to sneer at your fellow human being as imbecilic and the plight of the disabled hilarious.

My point is that I find it ironic that the government has an available system to where those who are complaining/sympathetic can create their own solution just fine, and one that would work well, but then they don't do so and would rather let things continue by just complaining about it and eventually looking to the government to fix the problem and by forcing some other group that is doing thing a certain way, to take on the burden of something that have chosen not to.

I find it idiotic that you view the current crisis as being caused by people who need health care and currently can't access it affordable, if at all because they are simpletons making poor choices and best of all, they are doing so because they know eventually the government will step in and save them and all at your expense. Poor you.

Won't come at my expense. I DARE someone to knock at my door, and they won't like the way they are greeted.

Because that's how government works right? They turn up at your door when you don't agree with their decisions

It can be figuratively speaking, but I'm saying if I get fined, someone will pay and it sure as hell won't be me and it won't be monetarily.

Are you going to fly a plane into a building?

Too much effort, I'd have to buy a plane, learn to fly, and then be suicidal.
