We sent our AOS last February 22th via Fedex. It arrived on March 1st (according to the Fedex tracking system). And after 22 days we have not received any notification from the gov.

Many people have received an email after a week, or maybe two, informing them that their cases had been received.

By this time we are very concerned because we don't know if they are doing something with our case, or at least, I'd like to know if they just received the package complete.

I am wondering if any of this circumstances could make our case different (and that is why it is taking more time):

a) The AOS was sent after 1 year I arrived to US

b) The fee was made with a cashier check (not money order as many people use to do)

I called the USCIS costumer service and they told me I have to wait 30 to call again and report the problem......UNBELIEVABLE !!!

I am very worry, specially for the money....!

So here I am asking for help

**** Do anybody have lived something similar?

**** Is there any way for me to make sure the package is still safe?

Thanks in advance

Well, I don't know what happened to your AOS package. But, I can tell you my experience.

If you look at my timeline (below), I initially submitted my AOS package in December. Like you pointed out, most of people get notified by email or find out if their packages arrived at the designated USCIS lockbox locations by tracking them online. I sent it in early December and learned that it was received by USCIS, but, after that, no checks were cashed, nor USCIS sent me NOA. So, I started freaking out. A month passed by.

Then, my brother, who lives and works in the U.S but also has a place in Canada, sent me a package that contained my AOS package. Guess what? I made error of putting my brother's Canadian address, which I share with him for mailing purposes in Canada, on the application. (Please, don't ask me why. It's embarrassing, but all I can say is, I thought too much...) So, I reaped it open, corrected the addresses and sent it out next morning, which was already around mid-January. It arrived at USIS next day, and this time, my checks were cashed in two days, and a week after re-submission, NOA arrived.

The USCIS letter in the returned package reads that I have to either file it from outside the U.S., or update the address and resubmit, which I did.

Once again, I don't know what happened to your package. But, maybe, you should go over the copies of the application you have kept to make sure that everything is correct. Cheers.
