Texas To Challenge Health Care Overhaul

AUSTIN (AP) ―Attorney General Greg Abbott says Texas and other states will legally challenge the federal health care legislation Congress has passed.

Abbott issued a statement late Sunday night after the U.S. House approved the measure. He said the legislation violates the U.S. Constitution and unconstitutionally infringes upon Texans' individual liberties.

The bill passed by Congress is headed to President Barack Obama for his signature. House members voted 219-212 late Sunday to approve a health care overhaul that that would extend coverage to 32 million uninsured Americans and make other changes to the nation's health care system.

Only House Democrats voted for the bill. Abbott is a Republican. A number of Texas Republicans have been highly critical of the measure.

The are patriots fighting to keep health care free. With this bill, they actually have to buy health insurance instead of using the emergency room as a free primary care clinic.

Anger motivates ######. A clear head is what is needed, not all this fear mongering. The government had a mandate to pass a health care bill. The bill may be flawed, it may not be what the people who voted for the Dems wanted in its entirety and it may not be the best bill that congress and the house could have delivered if everyone had worked toward the mandated goal of health care reform instead of sticking their heels in and saying no but heck, this is the best democratically elected government in the world, right?
