one certified copy per each divorce.

It's my understanding, though - that a PHOTOCOPY of the certified copy can be sent in with I-129F,

but then the ORIGINAL certified copy must be show on interview day.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

One of the requirements for the K-1 Petition is a Court Certified copy of the Divorce Decree.

Is it required that a Colored Seal be affixed to the document?

In cases where a petitioner has been married and divorced more than once. Is it required to submit a copy for each divorce?

Your question indicates you have not yet read the I-129F instructions which clearly indicate you send a photocopy of a certified copy of each and every divorce decree for petitioner AND beneficiary. Studying the guides here and all form instructions will be critical to your ultimate success. You'll still have questions but at least you'll have clue what you don't know or understand.

Thanks! I printed the instructions earlier in the week(for easier reading) and had read it several times. It was still clear as mud..... guess I should have checked the page count first before posting..... was missing page #2. I have that corrected now... will be re-reading in the morning this time with highlighter in hand and all pages present.

 Thats what I did - I had highlighted instrusctions everywhere!!!

I accidentally sent the original certified copies with my petition (instead of photocopies). It was not a problem except for the fact that if I ever need certified copies again I have to go back to the courthouse to get them again! :bonk:

Still, can anybody explain which seal should there be? We know a couple who got an RFE because the divorce paper they submitted was with an ink seal from the court, they were told 'a golden seal from the state is needed'...

And does the document have to be named a Certificate? We have a Record of Divorce from the state registrar, no golden seals... will that be okay? :help: If not, where do you get what they want?

I went to the courthouse and got "Certified Copies" which had the embossed gold seal. If you go that route there will be no questions.

You may need to specify to the Clerk of Records that you are requesting a "Certified Copy" or they may just give you a regular photocopy that is not "Certified".
