The next nationwide movement, after Healthcare is passed, will be the sudden Swooning Mainstream media over Obamas "victory".

In fact the language will contain such words as,

determined, bold, leadership, historic.

They will suggest this is a -new start for Obama and fawn over him as though he was the "david" in this fight, rather than the Goliath.

IN other words, the Media will get it's "tingle" back in it;s leg.

When the bill passes, Obama will have accomplished that which President after President, decade after decade has failed to accomplish. And it's not like there weren't enough trying. There were. But it is this Congress and this President who will bring the effort across the finish line. That is an accomplishment for those that make it happen and an abysmal failure for the forces of yesterday.

When did the mainstream media ever stop swooning over Obama and his administration? I've seen recent multiple glowing interviews on TV with Rahm Emanuel and Tim Geithner in The Atlantic Monthly as if the economy is just humming along.

All glory is fleeting. If there ahd been an election in March 1991, George H W Bush would have been re-elected with 90% of the vote. 18 months later he couldn't beat a guy no one had ever heard of before and that didn't get 50% himself.

It WILL be an accomplishment, and I am glad they at least ARE voting on the bill. I do not agree with it, but I won't take away what the guy has accomplished. He will rightfully deserve to celebrate. Get over it Danno, we are going to lose this one...you know that.

The DEMs may take it on the chin this fall, I think they will, but they stood up and took it on the chin, I will give them that. we need a LOT more politicians that aren't afraid to stand for their convictions and get elected or not because of it. We need a lot more that willing to do it that aren't Democrats or Republicans. Even so, we will then be stuck with the government mess the Republican pigs would make for us. We are creating a huge federal hog wallow and the huge government hogs are going to wallow in it for thier own purposes from now until eternity. The only difference is whether the Republicans will wallow in it and use it for their benefit, or if the Dems will wallow in it for their benefit. No one will turn it off or drain the swamp, they will just endlessly modify it for their own purposes...like income tax and social security.

I am privileged to be able to call Bernie Sanders an acquaintance and I disagree with him on almost everything, but the guy stands for what he believes and says so, I give him that, and I can tell you he is dedicated to the people of his state, of that there is no question. He tells me..."Gary, if you ever agree with me on everything...check into a mental hospital!" I know that in this health care process, Sanders managed to save 400 Vermont jobs and a very superior system of education funding in our state.

No, don't get me wrong. There are thinking and non-thinking individuals on every part of the political spectrum. And there are many libertarians that put forth well thought-out arguments to support their views. Same goes for conservatives and progressives. I just get a bit tired of these snippy nonsensical one-liners that some of our friends from the libertarian faction keep coming up with. It's just ridiculous.

Take Gary's comment above, for example. I can appreciate what he says.

Don't kid yourself, the Gov is not dragging "parts" of America... they are dragging the large Majority of America, kicking and screaming.

According to Nancy P., one consequence of the bill's passing is that I can quit my job to take up photography or guitar lessons. I hope that's true and that lots of Dim pols do just that.

In a health insurance system that stands on employer sponsored coverage where ever more employers don't offer any coverage worth speaking of anymore, health insurance considerations do keep people locked in their jobs and do prevent people from pursuing their ambitions. It also disadvantages small businesses in their pursuit for the best talent.
