This question is for mothers and fathers out there who've undergone the visa application already. As you know, immigrants are required to get their shots before a visa can be given. I got all shots appropriate for my age at the time. A week later I found out I was pregnant. We did our research on the effects of MMR and Varicella on the newborn, if any, and talked to a doctor. The doc wasn't worried at all and said the odds of a problem with the baby would be the same as with any other pregnancy. Our child was born healthy and is now a few months old.

If you got the shots too when you were pregnant, could you tell me how it turned out? Was there any problem for the baby? How is he or she growing? Do you breastfeed? Did you get your MMR bost when nursing?

I'm concerned since my baby was exposed to these vaccines prenatal, I wonder if it would make him more vulnerable to the side-effects of vaccines than other children. Yes, I worry about autism possibly being triggered when/if he gets an MMR shot. I've also heard all the debate and findings about it. But I'm not asking for scientific studies. I can look that up online. I'd like to hear real-life details from parents like myself. If you had this experience, or know somebody who does, please share!

Your baby should be fine. If anything, he/she would have minor immunity to the virus for about 6 months after birth. Its not recommended, but the stats on it being harmful are minimal.

:) Enjoy your little bambino!!

Invictus..

Out of the night that covers me,

Black as the Pit from pole to pole,

I thank whatever gods may be

For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance

I have not winced nor cried aloud.

Under the bludgeonings of chance

My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears

Looms but the Horror of the shade,

And yet the menace of the years

Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,

How charged with punishments the scroll.

I am the master of my fate:

I am the captain of my soul.
