Waiting For New Canadian Passport

I couriered my passport renewal application to QC, and they received it on March 03. They charged my credit card on March 10, and I haven't heard from them since. So I keep wondering if everything is o.k. with my application, I've read they are very picky about photos. I know that Cnaada Passport website states it can take up to 4 weeks to get a new passport, but according to posts on VJ, last year it used to take only about 2 weeks on average. Has anyone applied recently, and how long it took? If there is a problem with the application, how long it takes for them to send notification?

In answer to your question...

I applied last year (February 2009 actually), in-person at a Passport Canada office....

And it took 2 weeks to get my Canadian passport in the mail...(by DHL courier)

Lol..Funny though, I wasn't home at the time...And my former neighbour was the one that signed for it...So make sure you (or someone else) is at home to sign for it...

By the way, did you take your passport photos with Canadian specifications? I'm not sure if that would cause a delay if it wasn't this way...

As well, since you sent in your original canadian citizenship documents..Make sure they give those back to you too!

And if it takes too long (more than 4 weeks, as they mentioned), maybe you can inquire about that with Passport Canada too?

And yes, it does help if you have a reciept and/or tracking number to refer to as well....

Nevertheless, good luck with getting your Canadian passport soon (and Canadian documents back).

Thanks Ant. My passport arrived yesterday by Fedex. They also returned all original documents in excellent condition. Great service by Passport Canada!

Now, I can plan my trip to Europe.
