Hey,

I am wondering if we will have to fill out the DS-3032 although we are using an attorney?

"Choice of Attorney"...I guess that question is sort of uneccessary in cases where a lawfirm files the papers?

Since I am asking...can somebody give me a "timeline"...

I know it takes about 5 months for the NOA2

How long does it take...

1) to reach the NVC after approval?

2) the NVC to get the case completed?

3) from the completion til the interview?

4) for the visa to be send after the approval?

I would be hesitant to answer this question, really.

I would ask that you ask your attorney these exact questions.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

We haven't even received our NOA1, I don't really wanna bug out attorney with that stuff now (and hey...even asking a simple question like that is - of course- not for free  )

Thought somebody here might have the answer to my question

If you weren't using an attorney - I'd be happy to answer - I track this stuff - for casefiles not using an attorney.

It's difficult to track casefiles for any petitioners USING an attorney -

I must assume attorney is handling all paperwork -

so is no concept of 'speed' or 'diligence' or 'normal' processing durations.

IMO, the 'steps' from timetick to timetick, all vary, when using an attorney, as it all hinges around 'when' the attorney decides to DO something.

Sorry.

Mr.&Mrs.K

The DS-3032 will allow the immigrant visa applicant to designate an address and agent (typically a relative, attorney, or community-based organization based in the U.S.) to which National Visa Center (NVC) should direct future communications

Are you saying there actually is a difference in time when somebody's using an attorney?

Or just because of the fact that the attorney might delay things by not responding right away?

Could you give me the "non-attorney" timeline?

In my opinion, as someone who used an attorney but fired them just before NVC - they would have slowed us up substantially. They told us, when we got our NOA-2 that NO ONE gets through NVC in less than 60 days. As you can see by our timeline, we breezed through in less than a month. This is generally because, in our case, the lawyer wouldn't send anything to NVC unless it was specifically requested by them. We took LingChe's short cuts and it saved us heaps of time

This is our case. Maybe yours will be different (hopfully so) but at this point, a lawyer is not needed.

Good luck.

If you are using your attorney, they will automatically be designated as the agent so a DS3032 is not needed. Your IV/AOS bill will arrive together.

Good luck.

Signature of applicant is required for the DS-3032 the attorney can fill it out but can not sign for you... The DS- 3032 is required! applicant can designate him /her self as the agent if they wish, even while using an attorney. It's not automatically designated.

The attorney enters a G-28 effectively eliminating the requirement for a DS-3032.
