Would anybody be upset if the coup d'état happens tonight?

How popular was the Civil Rights Act with the public when it was passed in 64? Or Social Security, or Medicaid, or Medicare? Many people approved going to Iraq but looked how that turned out. Just because a bill is "unpopular" doesn't mean it is a bad bill.

;) The RWN's are having anxiety attacks over HCR because they know once it passes, it will be a permanent part of a legacy of landmark legislation like Social Security, Medicare, Civil Rights Act.

For all my RWN friends, may I suggest tonight....

The Civil Rights Act had nothing to do fiscal policy unlike the one other two bloated programs you mentioned.

Those landmark pieces of legislation are quite popular among Americans, as will HCR.

if by popular you mean 'there will be blood' (and probably not just figuratively) then yeah, you're right.

Oh and we will have another record deficit this year, and the year after and so on while the Socialist are in power.

We had record deficits while the moron was in power too. Not much difference...

Difference is that they're bigger by multiples of whole numbers, not just percentages.

Regardless, both parties need a swift kick in the head to get them to realise that this country cannot continue in this manner.

I hope there's no coup.

We need some new govt. reps, but coups and the like are not the way to go about change.
