Exactly, don't know why but it seems a proportion of the US population are completely irrational and paranoid. They must have been listening to Michele Bachmann too much. It took myself no more than 5 mins to fill out mine, all questions were harmless.

I think people should be allowed to answer questions in a way that they feel comfortable about, but they should also be aware of how the less information there is available, the less able government is to make decisions regarding where and what infrastructure to provide for any given community and that shortfalls in provision can be directly attributed to non compliance to the request.

I'm only going to answer the one question that is required. "How many people live here?"

My parents had a census worker mark their house. Why are census worker's using GPS to mark houses?

So that they can be located on a map and anyone doing follow up can make sure they have the right house in case of missing house number, remote location etc.

If by "country" you mean "government", then the answer is no.

We do not live by government permission. A government is the servant of the people,

not its master.
