Our insurance asks for proof that I drive since I am 18. We dont have something like that in Germany. I have my license which states that I received it in February 2000. Isn't that proof enough? How did you guys do that?

Thanks a lot,

Anna

If you had a car in Germany ask your insurance company to send you a statement to confirm that you had the car and that you were the primary driver. Also you can request a statement from Flensburg about your driving record. Not sure what else you could show as proof besides your drivers license since we didn't run into these problems with our auto insurance here.

Thanks Thea! It's Geico and they want it. Maybe they are happy with a copy of my DL. I'll call in Flesnburg tomorrow. Never owned a car - it was in my dad's name to save insurance money ;)

Do I have a record in Flensburg even if I never got a ticket?

Thanks, Anna

Yes, you will have a record in Flensburg - if you have no entries then it will say that you have a clean driving record. The website is www.kba.de - they have an online form where you can request the information and they used to offer this service in English as well (haven't check if this is still the case).

Hallo Anna,

Viel Glueck,

Anja.
