Hey again guys,

So I am a little confused about what forms I have to fill out when changing from an F-1 student status and filing for AOS as I am getting married. I understand that people have been telling me I need to file for i-130 and i-485 and the employment authorization, but what about the medical form? I have been looking through people situations on here to see what forms I needed exactly but some people dont include the medical form but I pressume this is needed? and if this is needed how much does this appointment cost!?

You include the medical form with the application. The cost varies on where you go what you need, but mine was somewhere around the $300 mark. I think it's generally about $120-$150 for the medical (which is the TB test, HIV test, exam), and anything extra you need costs more (i.e. vaccines).

I didn't adjust from F1 but I presume the requirements are the same no matter what visa you adjust from, so the medical is included in that. You should check the USCIS website for a list of places in your area that do this medical.

Use this guide: http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide2 it says I-693 further down.

The reason you have seen that some people haven't needed medicals is only if those people are adjusting status based on a fiance of spousal visa (such as myself because I'm here on a fiance visa). The reason for this being we had to have a medical prior to coming to the US in order to obtain our fiance/spousal visas and if the medical is less than a year old it is still "usable"... which is very handy given how much I paid for it (mine was AU$400 including shots).

Here's the USCIS form list: http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/menuitem.eb1d4c2a3e5b9ac89243c6a7543f6d1a/?vgnextoid=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD&vgnextchannel=db029c7755cb9010VgnVCM10000045f3d6a1RCRD you can see the I-693 in that list. This is the place you should get all your documents from.

Make sure you have a thorough read of the guide i posted and if you have any further qns just ask :D

thankyou. this really helps! Sorry for all the questions, its just a little confusing. I do have a couple more if you could all bear with me! lol. Firstly where do you send all these documents? Is there a general address or is there a specific location you have to send it to like the office which is closest to you? Also, you mentioned other vaccines? Will they tell you what other vaccines you will need? I plan on getting my medical records from home to take with me to show them what I have had....might make the process easier? Also, I have seen a couple of people post on here saying that they cant get married unless they have a social? (varies in some states) but on a student visa I am not allowed to have a social.....will this be a problem? arghhh
