Unless you are ignorant, the fact is that most people are pragmatic about this kind of thing and accept that all manner of horrible $hit happens in the world, and there's not a lot anyone can do to prevent it, other than tut their tongue, say "that's terrible", maybe donate some money to charity and move on.
