AR/AP processing times in EGYPT

Some people are approved the same day and get their visa the same day... how can they ensure picking up their visa the same day if they go on AP/Ar?

I am sure there are a myriad of reasons I am not familiar with, however the simplest example would be, no name hit, no TAL trigger or level of education concern, military background (where applicable).

I am just giving examples. Like I said, I do happen to believe there is a pattern.

I think the "name hit" is valid. But level of education is questionable, Zoloft said her man is a physician. What do you mean by military backround? Do you mean they served or did not serve?

I mean I can definitly see some things people have in common, but no patterns, but then again we only what is told here on VJ. Maybe if we knew all the details we could come to a better conclusion.?

Level of education is a pretty big concern which is why we have such difficulty letting educators, nurses and doctors in anymore from other countries. Needless delays for those people.

The fact that high education is a concern is laughable. You would think the US would want educated people! This is what is considered triggering a TAL (technological Alert List) and if you fit into one of these categories, you will have a level of AR. It can be subjective based on the CO's understanding of your career/education.

Having military involvement can be an issue, but I do not know to what extent since my husband was exempt.

Well a doctor or nurse would have to go to schooling in the USA to be able to practice. I am aware of the issues surrounding work and work related visas. However, all the people I know that went to school in the Middle East has to take additional schooling before being able to work. I know many dentists that now sell cars.

Your absoulutly right, it is laughable, they pose no threat to american jobs. I am interested in learning more about the military involvment. hmmm.

OH JB that really sucks ...I really pray for you my goodness all this wait!!!!!

God be with you :)

Shokran habibty. (F)

The issue is not that they were schooled there at all, but the level of schooling they received. Nor is it a threat to American jobs. Thats not at all what I am trying to convey. As rediculous as it may sound, a doctor could very well be a security threat due to their knowledge.

Just to supply some documentation of what I referring to HERE is language describing the TAL procedure in 2004 which as far as I know has not changed much, if at all.

Unfortunately most of my links are on my retired PC.

My husband is a Christian Egyptian (did i type that right?) as well as I we got married in March '05 and dcf 12 days later we were approved the same day but he got 221g letter at his May interview due to the fact we needed a co-sponsor. But once I sent that paperwork in (they received on June 9) and he has his visa in hand on July 4th 2005. So I dont think my husband had to go through any AP/AR.

He has been in the US with me for 1yr 2wks.

I hope each and everyone here waiting for his/her loved one are reunited very soon.

Maybe we can collect the first names of men processing through the ME along with their AP/AR time.

My husband's name is Tamer, which I believe is only popular in Egypt. I haven't come across too many shadey terrorist connected people who have that name, so maybe that's why our processing post interview was only a month and a half.

Hmmm...

10/14/05 - married AbuS in the US lovehusband.gif

02/23/08 - Filed for removal of conditions.

Sometime in 2008 - Received 10 year GC. Almost done with USCIS for life inshaAllah! Huzzah!

12/07/08 - Adopted the fuzzy feline love of my life, my Squeaky baby th_catcrazy.gif

02/23/09 - Apply for citizenship

06/15/09 - Citizenship interview

07/15/09 - Citizenship ceremony. Alhamdulilah, the US now has another american muslim!
