I did not receive the same email, my was more specific to my case (I had a couple of issues they addressed for me), but they did say 5 months wait. It definately is a bummer you had to cancel and then try to reschedule a month later, but there is no point beating yourself up over it. Keep your fingers crossed for an end of summer interview, as this seems to correspond with the 5 month wait time since your email stating you were ready to reschedule. I wouldn't expect any email/correspondence from them until you get your new appointment letter....good luck with everything, and hopefully you will get lucky and get an earlier interview!

Yes the guy in the answering machine said that wait time and this was not I expected.

This is so discouraging..I wish I should not have rescheduled...

When I first email them that I want to reschedule this is the automatically generated response in the email I got in January 6, 2010 and it is said 2-3 months, which syncs with my plans and time frame.

(copy and paste)

Q4: If I cancel my appointment when will I be rescheduled?

A: Rescheduled appointments generally occur 2 to 3 months from when we were notified of the appointment cancellation, due largely to our high volume of cases and workload. This may vary from case to case, due to visa number availability and the visa class being requested.

I believe this auto response had changed now..

Do you have the same auto response?

Wheww!! after constant email follow-up, I finally got a human response and according to the email, they noted my applications and will reschedule my interview appointment as soon as a new date is available. My daughter will not lose out of the IR2 visa category when she turns 21 considering that the petition was filed before her 21st birthday.

I am extremely happy that it was duly noted. I don't see any 5 months or so wait times to get rescheduled.

How about you?

Great news! Glad to hear you finally got some sort of an answer; hopefully that interview date will be coming along shortly. Good luck.
