Come'on weekend!

Ibrahim did his biometrics yesterday for EAD/AOS :) That was easy, in and out in 10 minutes. I go to work and come home to a nice chicken dinner (i heart.gif this man!)

So I say "did we get any mail today?" He is all full of smiles~~~and pulls out an interview letter!

We have our AOS interview in ONE month! April 19th! Alhamdulillah! If we go right to the 10 year card~~we are done done done with USCIS!

Great news Jackie. What a relief to be finished with USCIS, so when he came over had you already been married 2 years or not? Im getting a bit confused because Im sure when my husband gets here it will be after 2 years of marriage as that will be in May. So just lost about the EAD, I thought at certain times they could get that at POE. Is that true?

Wow, Jackie that was fast! GREAT news!

Sandra, I've heard people here say that it can be done but I've also read reviews where others have posted their experiences at the POE where they asked about changing from a CR1 to an IR1 and at the POE they said no. I believe the distinguishment between CR1/IR1 is made at the point of application, but it never hurts to ask or to try. If you can get the IR1 at the POE then it would save so much time and money! But maybe someone else has actually experienced it...I have only read about it.

Well today is my birthday and I get to talk to my husband in a couple of hours. I also get to keep working on immigration paperwork. Ugh! Actually, I've spent a lot of time on it the past couple of days so I'm not planning on doing too much with it today. I can't believe how fast this week is going and how quickly I have to go back to work. :( However, the sooner this 4th quarter starts, the sooner it will be over and I can go back to Morocco and that is certainly something to look forward to.

I'm off to get a couple of things done before my hubby chat and am also going to enjoy the 80 degree weather we are going to have today. :thumbs: Everyone have a great day!

09/13/2011 went to congressman's office to sign papers for expedite of work permit, due to financial hardship

09/15/2011 Work permit expedite approved!! He can finally find a job!

09/24/2011 work permit arrives

09/26/2011 Apply for social security number!

09/30/2011 Letter is sent for interview

11/07/2011 INTERVIEW!!!

Its 2012 and still no approval! Still waiting

~Sandra, I think that your husband will be a IR1 when he goes to the embassy for his interview. I would definitely be asking some questions there!! As far as EAD, that will be taken care of at the POE...I think!! :blush:

If your husband enters the country on a CR1 or IR1 there is no need for an EAD.

Oh yes, that's true LaL. But if it's a CR1 then there is an adjustment of status after he's been here for 2 years and then you get the 10 year green card. But if it's an IR1 then you just get the 10 year green card to start.

If he winds up with a CR1 he would have to lift conditions after 2 years, not adjust status.
