It is so great to find this forum. I have browsed through and have learn a lot of useful information. Thank you in advance for the following question.

I'm helping my dad (petitioner) filing out the I-864 and my sister and her family (sponsored immigrants) with the ds-230 forms.

1. Do I have to complete both forms (I-864 and ds-230) and send them in together or can I send them separately? The reason is that I have completed the I-864 but I still have to wait for supporting documents and signed ds-230 from my sister and her family from VietNam. So can I send in the I-864 now and ds-230 later?

2. Do I have to wait to be contacted by NVC or can I just download the cover letter of the ds-230 after paying the fee and send in the ds-230.

Thank you so much for your time..

You dont have to send them together (I-864, DS-230). Once you paid $70 AOS Fee and if the status changes to PAID, print the document cover sheet for the AOS and send the I-864 along with the required documents.

If you have already paid your IV Fee Bill and if the status changed to PAID then print the document cover sheet and send in DS-230 along with required documents.....you can download DS-230 and get it signed by the beneficiary......

If for some reason you didnt send in I-864 yet then you can send both together but with associated document cover sheets...

Hope this helps...Good Luck! Thanks, Raj

Pay attention, non-EP NVC noobs. Here's Christeen's time tested formula to get you through NVC in one piece alive:

Petitioner: Get NVC # + give operator your email IDs + receive AOS fee bill + pay 70$ online + wait to show paid + print cover sheet + send I-864 AOS with all documents and case # written on each page.

Beneficiary: Get NVC# + receive DS3032 + send DS3032+ DS3032 accepted + IV fee bill available to be paid + pay & wait to show paid + print IV cover sheet + mail DS230 package with all original/certified documents

= wait for case complete + wait for interview to be scheduled.

Hang out with us in the NVC March 2010 thread, ya?

Thank you so much, you guys are awesome.

Seem like I'm on the right tract so far. I have pay all the fees, now just need to submit the forms. However, this is the first time that I hear about the DS3032 form. I did not received the DS3032 form, is it required? What is the advantage of filing the DS3032 form compare to just getting information from the Petitioner and Beneficiary? Thanks again

Brad

I'd suggest adding a timeline so that people can help you by giving advice specific to whichever stage of the process you are in. Otherwise, we're just shooting in the dark.

Has your I-130 been approved? Have you paid BOTH the bills? Your DS3032 is the Choice of Agent form to be filled by the beneficiary. The IV bill is generated only after that is accepted.
