I-864 using sponsor

Hi,

I just got an email from nvc saying that i need to fill out I-864, but since I am a full time student and has no income, I used my sister as sponsor for my spouse. so my sister filled out i=864 with her w-2 for past 3 years..

Do i have to fill out i-864 even though i have no income and didnt file tax return.

The short answer is YES you need to send in a I-864 as well even if your income is 0, you are the sponsor, your sister is the co-sponsor because your income is insufficient ☺

Yes and the reason is that presumably later you WILL be in a position to fulfill the contract you are required to sign as primary sponsor. This means the government comes after you first, then your sister, if needed.
