they will go in there when there's no water in it, but fill it up or turn the water on and they freak out and bolt out of the bathroom

That is just totally cruel! There's no reason to wash a cat - they do it themselves! You all have beautiful cats. I don't have a pic of our Rooster to show but he's a huge fluffy ginger Maine #######.

There ARE reasons to wash a cat. #1 - flea baths when necessary, to avoid using the harsh anti-flea topical chemicals on their skin. #2 -my cats are outdoor/indoor cats (I feel it's cruel to keep a cat cooped up in the house), so they do get really dirty sometimes especially if it's rained and it gets muddy outside. I barely bathe them but when I do it's because I won't let them lay on my furniture like that

I will get a Maine ####### someday. Are there Maine Coons from shelters? I first saw them on Animal Planet's Cats 101.

My first cat, Osian would sit on the edge of the bath whenever I was in the tub. Very odd but I didn't mind.

She could also open doors by jumping up and hanging onto the handle...

I would like to get a Newfie someday . Before that, we need to have a huge house for such a huge pet. I am also thinking that maybe Newfies are too expensive to maintain... but I am in love with them .

What's the breed of your dog, Nagi?
