Hi all.

Well K1 was approved on March 1st 2010. Reading other November 09 K1 filers of similiar dates and approvals. Lots have gone through

the NVC in days. I rang them today and yes they have the case and yes I got the case number but it seems stuck

with additional processing.

They Counldnt tell me why. So am a wee bit worried.

Anybody any suggestions why. I hope it is nothing serious.

Thank you, goodnight and may your gods go with you",

probably doing a name check...

I think that is the most common thing. Yours might be just been randomly chosen for an audit. I know the NVC has been slowing down these days, but yours shouldnt have been there that long being a K-1. All i can say is to keep calling them at least once a week. Charlie & Pam had the same thing happen, but they made it through the AP pretty quick.

Ours was stuck in NVC for about a month. Name checks take forever. Normally they just pull random petitions out of the stack and hang onto them to do extra checks. Normally, there is no rhyme or reason, but they do actually move on.

Hang in there.

We call this the "Black Hole" (of NVC).

If you hang out longer than 4 weeks, get your local congressman or senator involved. Sometimes that helps to push it along.

It's so hard to say, because additional processing can be something that takes a couple days or as long as a couple months. I would say that it seems to be a rare few who have to wait for such an excessive period. I called and they told me mine was in additional processing, but then it got shipped out about two days later. Hang in there, and keep calling and asking them if they can give you an idea of when it's going to be forwarded on. They'll generally tell you if it's getting close...
