We always used google chat, it had an option to actually call each pc through the internet. you just selected someone on your contact list and pressed the call button and it would ring through the chat program.

now that i live in windsor i can pick up us cell towers here like tmobile. so david just added me to his cell plan and its free to call each other.

Smart Phones are $60 ($50 base + $10 for unlimited international) a month as well.

A Blackberry is $70 ($60 base + $10 for unlimited international) a month.

I've been using GrandCentral which then became Google Voice. I have a Boston number, so my man doesn't pay LD when calling me, and I place calls to the US for free too. During the day, we text more than we talk though.

The best way to get free calls in Canada and USA is through magic jack.

I had been using this for a year and i have no complaints.
